Are under investigation by the equalities and humans rights commission over anti semetism complaints. The last political party to be investigated by the EHRC was the BNP....
The Labour Party as a whole will welcome this investigation because if Anti Semitism is prevalent in the Party it needs eradicating . Also it will be individuals within the party as the party itself is all encompassing and inclusive of all tolerant individuals or groups . No doubting there is calls for Anti Semitism within the party to cease and be dealt with and so it should . I personally have not heard this within the people I deal with but would want to know if this despicable practice is being practiced. I reiterate my position which is I condemn the current Israeli govts policy on Palestine and Middle East as I condemn Iran, Saudi Arabia etc . But I fully respect the Israeli people as a whole and the Jewish religion and absolutely support their rights as I do other Countries and Religions. The Tory Party are also having accusations of Islamophobia and I would imagine similar processes will take place to stamp it out and eradicate it as it any prejudices have no place in any British polical institutions. We are a tolerant encompassing society and our political party’s should reflect this .
The people engineering this campaign to label the Labour Party as anti-Semitic are an embarrassment, and it's purely being done to deflect from the damage the Conservative Party have done and are wreaking on this country. Unfortunately, the thick and the gullible will lap it up and we'll have 100 glorious years of post-Brexit Tory rule. Obviously any individual instances of anti-Semitism which can be proven should be dealt with appropriately, but the way the Press has painted the whole Party as being involved is a disgrace.
The same rabid papers don’t seem to have the same fervour to eradicate islamophobia from the Tory party (who happen to be the government! I can’t imagine why!
a) proves that antisemitism isn't prevalent in the Labour Party and then everyone can shut the fook up about it b) proves that antisemitism is prevalent in the Labour Party, highlights who and then it can be dealt with, then everyone can shut the fook up about it
Lapping it up, claiming offence but whilst also following Tommy Robinson and other Right wing media outlets. You really couldn’t make it up. All forms of racism is abhorrent, and there’s no place for it in society.
No one is disputing your right to be critical of Israeli policy or the right to criticise of someone to be critical of a religion however far too many people both right and left use this allowance of criticism to launch vitriol, hatred and various stereotypical tropes against region religion and so forth. You are correct there is a issue with Islamophobia within the Tory party, so much so 15 party members were suspended after posting alleged Islamophobic comments pending investigations just this week. The thing is, having the EHRC open an investigation on the back of numerous complaints is no small thing. They only get involved as a last resort especially when it comes to political parties. It just shows what a **** show the Labour Party is in its current guise if they have turned up to look around. Bear in mind very recently Laura Murray,( the daughter of Andrew Murray a key Corbyn ally) who’s job role was stakeholder manager to the leader of the opposition has been seconded to the complaints department to help with the investigations into complaints over anti Semitic comments. Not only has this appointment been questioned by senior labour MPs over independence away from party leadership Ms Murray is currently being sued by Rachel Reilly for libel.
Notice they aren't investigating the Tory party for Islamophobia BBC News menu Theresa May's 'head in sand' over Tory Islamophobia, says Warsi 05 March 2019 UK Politics Share this with Email Share this with Facebook Share this with Twitter Share this with Whatsapp Video captionBaroness Warsi on Theresa May: "She doesn't listen, she fails to acknowledge when there is a problem" Theresa May has been accused of "burying her head in the sand" over Islamophobia in the Conservative Party. Former party chairwoman Baroness Warsi said the PM had failed to "acknowledge" or "tackle" the problem and this was "symptomatic" of her wider leadership. Shortly after her comments, the party said 14 members had been suspended for Islamophobic Facebook posts. The Conservatives said "decisive action" would be taken against anyone making offensive remarks. The suspensions followed messages posted on a Facebook group called the "Jacob Rees-Mogg Supporters Group". The page was not affiliated with the MP or the party as a whole but Conservative members identified as using it have been suspended pending an investigation. "When we find evidence of members making offensive or inappropriate comments, we consistently take decisive action," a spokesman said. But Baroness Warsi, who was the UK's first female Muslim cabinet minister, has said her party had "turned a blind eye" to prejudice and become "institutionally Islamophobic". She suggested the "rot had set in" several years ago and accused senior party officials of being "in denial" and presiding over an "opaque" complaints process. Falconer pressured over anti-Semitism role Tory peer calls for Islamophobia inquiry In a personal attack on the prime minister, she said Mrs May had "failed to tackle the problem head on". "She doesn't listen, she fails to acknowledge when there is a problem. It's probably symptomatic of the way in which her leadership has dealt with other matters. "Burying your head in the sand is not going to make problems go away." She said efforts to modernise the party had "gone into reverse" since Mrs May succeeded David Cameron as leader, but she ruled out quitting the party, as others have done. "If my party's going though a process of 're-UKIPification' of itself, then it's my job to stand within that party and fight to bring it back to the centre ground." Video captionConservative deputy chairman Jame Cleverly “When something happens, we take immediate action” She has written to the party's chief executive Sir Mick Davis urging him to "show leadership" on the issue, because, she said, Mrs May and party chairman Brandon Lewis had not. She said Sir Mick, a former chairman of the Jewish Leadership Council, had a "long history of fighting bigotry" and was "uniquely placed to understand consequences of unchecked hate". Video captionConservative MP Henry Smith MP says he has "never come across" Islamophobia in his party Baroness Warsi has been warning about anti-Muslim prejudice in the party for years. Her latest intervention follows a row over former candidate Peter Lamb, who was was due to stand in the Staple Tye ward, in Harlow, Essex, in May's local elections and had previously stood in the Toddbrook ward. Mr Lamb was disciplined by the party after it emerged that he had posted a message on Twitter in 2015, saying "Islam like alcoholism [sic]" and "the first step to recovery is admit you have a problem". Later in the same year, he tweeted: "Turkey buys oil from ISIS. Muslims sticking together," adding: "Do they want us to call ISIS Daesh now so that we don't associate them with Islam?" Mr Lamb was reinstated as a candidate but local party sources said he had quit the party earlier on Tuesday, following the row about his comments. 'Party in denial' In a statement on Twitter, he apologised for the remarks, saying they were "aimed at the extremists that have hijacked Islam and are cowardly hiding behind the religion". Justice Secretary David Gauke rejected suggestions the party had ignored warnings on the issue. "Where there is evidence, we take action, as a political party should. "Whether it is Islamophobia or whether it is anti-Semitism, there is an obligation on political parties to take action and address it. "That is what the Conservative Party does and will continue to do. So I don't accept that criticism." But the Muslim Council of Britain said the level of prejudice within the party was "astonishing" and the claims should be independently investigated. "We've seen MPs, councillors and members engage in bigotry that should have no place in a modern Conservative Party," a spokesman said. "Yet the constructive call by Muslim communities for an independent inquiry into the issue has been ignored again and again. Instead we hear excuses, denials and the responses we would expect when there is an institutional problem." Copyright © 2019 BBC. The BBC is not responsible for the content of external sites.
And remember Baroness Warsi is a Tory! She says the level of islamophobia is astonishing whilst others say it doesn’t exist! Racism is the torrid? Surely not? Just ask the Windrush generation!
Thing is the Tory press are labelling the Party as anti Semitic . Now I’m in the party and I abhor any discrimination of any kind snd if the Party were a discriminatory party I would not be in it full stop. There are members complaining of being discriminated against and if this is true it needs to be investigated and eradicated , I don’t doubt these people who are alleging and in fairness if there are people/ persons doing this the party should investigate and take the action of expelling these peopl from our party there is no room for them full stop. But it should be done in an honest and open way for both alleged and accused and the appropriate action taken . But to say the Party is anti semetic is wrong and so is the Tory press. As I said if anyone is being targeted by persons or groups let’s find em and get rid but let’s not have people with agendas tarring us all with the same brush as this minority.
I’m not privy to complaints made to the EHRC sorry. If you mean Rachel Riley, then here’s a nice article from the Daily Mail. Plenty of other sources if you fancy a google. . https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...y-gets-job-Labours-COMPLAINTS-department.html
No not at all , I suggest you read it again if that’s the conclusion you’ve come to because nowhere in my post have I said or hinted that .
Your not privy ? You’ve just done about four paragraphs as why you think the labour party’s anti semetic . I’d suggest you study before you post in future . I’m not interested what Rachel Riley’s said that’s between two people not the labour party as a whole .
