Lindsay was superb, Pinillos very classy and Woodrow led the line brilliantly. Mowatt, Cavare and Thiam had their moments, but we didn't have enough players on top of their game to win it. Pinnock looked rattled for the first time in a Barnsley shirt and Green looks to have talent but he wasn't ready for a game like that. Bahre should not have emerged after half time. He wouldn't have if he was English. I know that's controversial, but even the people we idolise, like Stendel, aren't perfect. We missed Brown, McGeehan and Moore and the manager didn't have the faith in those on the bench to replace players who weren't performing. Considering who we were missing it was a good result. This team don't know how to lose, even when they're not playing great, and that's an amazing attribute. There won't be a tougher game in the final nine matches, so it's up to us.
We got to have a scapegoat ,Bahre young lad playing in shocking conditions, one or two misplaced passes against million pound midfielders ,watch game back again and you will see he did plenty of good passes too,oh yes he is German too, let’s get that one in
I can see why Sunderland don't lose. Really well-organised defensively and throw themselves in the way of anything to prevent a shot on goal. I was impressed by them and I enjoyed the game. It was very absorbing. I don't agree with the O/P's point about Bahre.
In Bahre's defence he also broke up play superbly, getting a toe here and an interception there. Yes he does give the ball away more than most but not as bad as some would have it.
I thought Sunderland were a good side who made it difficult for us and we made it hard for them. Conditions didn’t help. Agree about most of the players but I don’t think Bahre was as bad as you obviously did. And I thought Green did OK. Also we have been poor on Tuesdays so happy we got a point
The jury is out on Bahre but, if it were me, I'd have a look at him in the Championship (assuming etc etc...) The game in L1 appears a bit frantic for him.
Lindsay was brilliant, Pinnock scared the **** of out me like he does sometimes and Sunderland don't like it when we got stuck in.
The game was scrappy in crap conditions with little quality on show from both sides . I'd have taken a 0-0 all day long before the match .
Perfect sum up....behre stuggles with 2 games per week and i was suprised to see him start. Sunderland very much like pompy but not impressive. Again we were the best footballing team, our fitness was very good again , 80 mins on clock and still 3 players going for the press......on the whole a good point.
Might have been the conditions but I thought they had more of the long ball in them than football. The conditions nullified our passing game and as such spoiled the game somewhat.
He was ***** in my opinion. Nothing to do with his age or nationality and the conditions were the same for everyone yet he was the standout poor performer.
