As a Veteran I couldn't with a clear conscience vote for a party with Corbyn at the head of it..... that said there isn't a politician in the country that I trust anyway, need to scrap them all and start again.
That’s true about the voters down south voting Tory choose what it’s just same as some Northern Towns voting Labour only . No doubt they won’t get some of their own slagging them off though saying things like they’ll vote for a donkey if it’s a Conservative like some on here . The Tories have damaged this country more than anyone else , throwing away our industrial heritage for seats on rivals boards or shares in the company for themselves or friends/ relatives, And not only that they have damaged this country by pitting Person against person on benefits/ immigration/ law and order you name it they’ve damaged it and they gave the audacity to sneer at Corbyn lol. No doubting they have their Wanabees on here . I’d swap the two party system tomorrow even though I’m a labour man , it was ok for yesteryear for strong govts bug the ideology especially of the right is so aggressive it needs curtailing and not pandering to for support in govt. May was always incompetent her role as Home Secretary proved that so how the hell that stupid party unleashed her on the nation as PM is a joke. A coalition would probably be the best for this country as long as it’s nit like the lib drm/Tory one where Clegg and co had their bellies tickled just for a Govt limo. It has to be a coalition for the country not parties like last time imo
I fail to see how you come to that conclusion I really do . Have you read the Party manifesto ? Corbyn is leader the politics are made by the most Democratic Party in the country not boardrooms or what MPs want
I've heard this from a number of veterans and you've obviously made your mind up from things you've been told by the media and probably the forces top brass, fair enough. But just consider this, MI 5/6 opened a file on him decades ago based on the same information you've used and so far I am not aware of any action against him that has ensued, plus he is now a member of the privvy council and will have been vetted by the security forces again and if only a tenth of what has been leveled at him is true he would not have been allowed to join. He has also recieved two recognised peace awards for his unstinting work to bring peace to Ireland and the middle east. Not bad for a terrorist sympathiser. As a veteran surely you are unhappy with the way the tories have decimated the armed services, well surely you know that Corbyn has vowed to reverse the cuts they have made by recruiting thousands more personnell in order to boost our defence capabilities. Not forces related, but he has also vowed to reverse the cuts to the police as well.
To be fair I did say "that said there isn't a politician in the country that I trust anyway, need to scrap them all and start again." Corbyn however..... I make my mind up based on things that happen, that I see, that I read..... lots of sources. In 1986, Corbyn was arrested with 15 demonstrators protesting against the trial of a group of IRA members including the Brighton Bomber Patrick Magee. Magee would be found guilty of murdering five people. After refusing police requests to move from outside the court, Corbyn and the other protesters were arrested for obstruction and held for five hours before being released on bail, but were not charged. Following the 1987 Loughgall ambush, in which eight IRA members and one civilian were shot dead by the British Army in an operation to defend a police station, Corbyn attended a commemoration by the Wolfe Tone Society and stated "I'm happy to commemorate all those who died fighting for an independent Ireland." In the early 1990s, MI5 opened a temporary file on Corbyn to monitor his links to the IRA. The Metropolitan Police's Special Branch monitored Corbyn for two decades, as he was "deemed to be a subversive", someone who might "undermine ... Parliamentary democracy". He appeared at a number of Republican protest events. According to The Sunday Times, following research in Irish and Republican archives, Corbyn was involved in over 72 events connected with Sinn Féin, or other pro-republican groups, during the period of the IRA's paramilitary campaign. He voted against the 1985 Anglo-Irish Agreement, saying "We believe that the agreement strengthens rather than weakens the border between the six and the 26 counties, and those of us who wish to see a United Ireland oppose the agreement for that reason." In 1998, he supported and voted for the Good Friday Agreement, saying he looked forward to "peace, hope and reconciliation in Ireland in the future." You are right, nothing that he could actually be arrested for..... I personally do not like him and again, would never vote for a party that he was at the head of.
Fair enough if you don't like him, we all have our thoughts, but just remember everything you've mentioned is all ira related and wether you believe it or not he was working for and eventually helped to bring peace to Ireland. As he has said you don't get anywhere only talking to the good guys, you have to talk and interact with people you don't agree with. He did it in the open, thatcher and her team met the ira more than corbyn but in secret. Just think if, as in Iraq the government of the day had taken him seriously how many soldiers lives would have been saved. As for not voting labour because of him, well that means you don't want the policies in the manifesto and endorse all the cruel **** that the tories are doing. If you like the policies but won't vote for them because of corbyn, then that is like burning your house down cos you don't like the curtains.
