Just watching the highlights of the goal and noticed we had 6 lads in the box plus Cavaré on the edge of the area. Having played pretty poorly and gotten away with a few near misses we could easily just settled for a well earned away point but we didn’t and got the win. Sometimes you earn your own luck, great away win.
I’ve mentioned similar to this, We could’ve been forgiven for trying to shut up shop for the dying stages of the game especially considering the near misses Walsall had. However, we kept going forward and the rest is history. We made our own luck with that attitude.
this a young team that doesn’t stop until the final whistle and the exuberance of stendel on the touch line is a joy to watch we’ve played better this season and lost so i’ll take yesterday’s result all day long 7 cup finals to go and this will be a season that will live long in our memories “there’s a starman playing on the right, his name is jacob brown and he’s f******g dynamite” U Reds
Yes BUT ..... how many of them are BRAVE enough to score !?!?! Thiam definitely ISN'T. He had an almost exact shot against Donny - straight at the keeper - easier to score than miss. And he missed it. Because he’s not brave enough. And the majority of the players are the same - there is an apprehension running through the team. As for Bahre - he couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo. And you could add Mowatt to that list. There is only Woodrow and Green that seem to be playing as though they have the confidence to hit the back of the net if a chance came their way.
So Cameron can't score either!? Honestly there's loads of times to be all doom and gloom as a Barnsley supporter but this season isn't it!
Just concern about the inability to score and put teams to bed. It would be tragic if we fell at this late stage because of it.
I think Mowatt needs to be greedier in and around the D as does Mcgeehan. I think hitting a red shirt is commendable and safe but hitting the back of the net is better. Better aswell because if it goes out for a goal kick it gives us chance to get back into position rather than being hit on break through a mis placed pass or fanny tap flick.
Problem we've got, is opposition know all about Mowatt and his ability, and chuck bodies in front of him whenever he looks like shooting. Walsall did it a few times to us to good effect.
Green seriously. I don’t think he actually knew where he was meant to be playing when he came on. Spent more time in the middle rather than out on the right. Agree re Bahre. Was wasteful in good places on a few occasions yesterday.
