    If the rumoured £5 million is to believed, you’re deluded if we think we will keep hold of him. As another user said above, better than him doing a Yiadom and running down his contract. Would wish him all the best if he went.

    Exactly. Anywhere between 10% and 20% and that’s more money further down the line. Yes it’s gutting to lose players but trust the club to bring in the right talent to replace them.

    If we get close to 5 million for a player with only 12 month left on his contract then we’ve done very well.

    Also last January selling wise I thought the club did very well, Moncur now sat unused on Luton’s bench Isgrove not off the treatment table for Portsmouth and we got good money for Potts and replaced him with Brown who’s developing nicely.

    My only problem with it was not signing another striker, but then again it wasn’t until after the window ended that Kieffers head fell off and we were left with shortages upfront

    Agreed.

    On the striker front, you just don’t know who was available. Could see a couple of strikers coming in the summer and Vic going out on loan.

    Interesting about Moncur. Someone on here said that they'd been talking to their manager and he'd said he's not fit and needs a pre season. Read exactly the same on their forum.

    What does Moncur do in pre season? He's been at Barnsley for several years and now Luton, and is still exactly the same.

    When you consider how fit the rest of our lads are, Mowatt being a shining example of someone getting back on track, you have to question whether Moncur has problems with diet or attitude.

    He’s still only young, if I was club I would offer him an increase to sign 2 year contract with clauses allowing him to leave. Them being £8-10 mill.
    One good season in Championship he would be worth double £5 mill

    Moncur is a Sunshine player, great asset in a team flying and playing well but not one for the trenches.
