OK we all think there are issues with selection, shooting, players out of position etc etc So what's the answer...with Pilinos back were only missing Moore from what most think is our 1st eleven. but how do we fill his shoes. I favoured move Brown to partner Woodrow and bring Green in on the right,,,,suggestions please
All we can do is turn up and sing our hearts out. Leave the important business to Daniel I trust him and these players will finish second still.
The talents there we’ve seen it from all players at certain timed in the season . It’s keeping it together and how we manage the nerves and turn them into positives . This is where management comes in and I think we’re are well served .
I think today's starting team, minus Williams and plus Pinillos, is the best we can put out at the moment. I would make room for Hedges rather than Bahre, as he has the most potential for end product.
The answer was doing better in the January transfer window. The first eleven is good but beyond it we’re really struggling without Moore & Dougall. Bahre has a good game every 3 or 4 & then the rest of them Adeboyejo, J Williams, Green etc I just don’t see them coming on & changing a game for us. All we can hope is Stendel & the lads can do enough to get over the line or that somehow Moore is allowed to play
I would give Hedges a go up front along side Woodrow whilst Kieffer is still side lined I seem to recall him playing upfront once or twice when he first joined us and he seemed quite useful. Or have I mixed him up with someone else? Kieffer coming back sooner than expected would be a dream come true
Unfortunately to maintain a promotion run in with such an inexperienced side is tough. I hope we had no choice in letting Potts go as that was a big mistake, Moncur I hope was worth it. The 3 games on sky was definitely a downer for us as Brown and Mcgheehan are yet to recover from the bans for some reason and the injury to Dougal is having a big experience impact on us now. This is time for players to step up - Bahre and Thiam are not kids and should be driving us forward now. Fryers and Hedges should come forward now after a waste of a season from and for both of them, Pinnilos needs to start in place of Williams, Brown is young but has shown enough so far this season that he shouldn't fall away when we need him to push on. Again it's tough but the young ones are now understandably struggling Green, Vic Williams x2 so Stendel to fill the squad up needs to select the young ones who look to have a bit of quality about them ie styles. Davies Cavare Pinnock Lyndsay Pinnilos Fryers Mowatt Hedges Mcgheehan Bahre Woodrow Thiam Brown Styles Walton Jackson Green J Williams The starting line up not many will agree with but it is our most experienced, Fryers can play the defensive midfield role allowing Mowatt to drive forward. Thiam Brown and styles are good enough to make a difference as a sub.
Go back in time and sign another striker? Since Moore has been injured we have played Bahre in behind, then Mcgeehan in that role, Victor up top with Woodrow and now Thiam. It was a huge gamble to try and get through the season with no cover for such a key area, we muddled through while Woodrow was injured and when Moore was out over Christmas. It's starting to catch up with us now, games we were winning are turning to draws now.
The bit I put about sky games was nonsense as we got 7 points from 9 it was more to do with Mcgheehan and Browns form since the bans and the affect it had on the Donny and non sky games as they were playing much better prior to the lay off and its a fact whether right or not that Mcgheehan would not have been banned if it wasn't on sky and publicised so much. Anyway glad I've cleared that up, I feel better now.
A week of shooting practice & some plans for achieving something....anything, from corners. Nothing else. Rest 'em up, bit of massage. Just get a bit of muscle memory installed for finding the back of the net. If we'd had just a few percentage more of our attempts on goal actually hitting the target over the course of the season, we'd already be promoted.
It’s not the answer to the o/ps question though is it. It’s about what we can do now until the end of season. I think we just have to carry on and keep creating opportunities. We got punished for a mistake yesterday for their first goal and a bit of bad luck for their second. More composure in front of goal and I think we’ll be fine
That's a great idea. I'll have a bash at cobbling together a time machine in my shed. I've plenty of wood. If I can get it to work, I'll come on here last week and let you know.
In fairness, having Brown and McGeehan back after their bans should have been like signing two new players. They've been the worst two players on the pitch for the last two games.
