They don't have to be better, just better than what we have as back up now. A loan would have sufficed from a decent championship team, just like when we signed ashley Fletcher (not a champ player). As dalestyke has stated, we are in the position we are .....due to stendell. I too don't have names but we have a database of suitable players and a team paid to find replacements. Didn't have money?!!....well we took some decent cash for potts. If you are chasing promotion and are serious, you put in the time, do the homework and make things happen.
I can't be arsed to argue the same points I made a couple of weeks ago, so see below for my thoughts.
Some good points here, and lest we forget, but for a couple of defensive howlers we’d have comfortably beaten Coventry at the weekend.
Coventry could say the same about our first, but I agree we could have easily won it was a very open game. If it weren't for the stress of a promotion race it would have been a joy to watch actually.
Ha ha. Yes it would. I suspect there may be more anxious moments than pleasurable ones in the next few games. But that’s what you sign up to if you chose to follow BFC so let’s get on board the rollercoaster.
Let it go feller. You’re talking nonsense. There were plenty on here making these points prior to, and during, the window. Just because you disagree doesn’t make you some kind of Superfan. We all want the Club to succeed.
I’ll let it go when someone can tell me who they’d attempt to sign, apparently everyone on here seems to know what they’re talking about
What has happened has highlighted one thing, if we go up what happens next year? We all agree we need cover, but no one can think of someone good enough to join us now so being in Championship just makes it even harder. The only saving grace is there could be some exciting options from abroad in the summer to counter this.
Listen, i agree it would’ve been ideal to sign a striker in jan just in case but what quality of striker would we have brought in? Even the kid from boro wanted to stay at Bradford for first team football. It’s easy to say it as a fan but it’s not that simple.
Take a look at what transfer business the current league leaders did in January. They brought in 3 loan players on transfer deadline day to supplement their squad and to cover injuries through to the season end. A team who have done things the right way and will likely win the league title. We on the other hand try to get by hoping Woodrow or Moore do not pick up any injuries. The club's stance was ridiculous, as was the situation regarding the lad Miller, a player who can't now get a game for bottom of the league Bradford (some of their fans want him out the club now). I've not agreed with how BFC has utilised loan deals in the past but January was a great opportunity to bring in a loan striker til the end of the season. Someone to help young Victor and to push the other lads. If we finish second then Stendel will have worked a bloody miracle given all the sh*t he's had to put up with.
I stated on this site that loan moves in January would be the best thing to push on for promotion but unfortunately the club have stated that loan moves arent an option so as i said earlier, which strikers would we have gone for???
I’m not denying there would have been plenty of players willing to join us but are they good enough and are they affordable are other questions
No-one can give you a name, don't be so silly. You can't tell me there wouldn't have been umpteen loan possibilities, who would have been more use than Adeboyejo.
Yet again I agree with the loan option which I stated in jan and was slagged off due due to the fact the club had stated they weren’t going down that route
Staggering really to see that some of our fans are still finding things to complain about despite the fact our Reds are unbeaten in 20, unbeaten at home all campaign. Especially when some of these fans are forgetful of their own words 8 months ago when to be in this position wasn't on their agenda because this squad was terrible and the manager a gamble. This season is incredible and there should be almighty praise and support. But we get this bilge. Staggering.
There's nothing wrong with having the plan that we do, but if we are to progress achievement wise it can't be followed 100%. It isn't always in the club's best interests to be so narrow minded about recruitment. The occasional loan signing or over 25 player can be essential in the short term.
