I wasn't gonna watch all that purely because it's 8 and a half minutes long but I'm glad I did. Nailed it.
You can see their pain and feel their pain, talking lots of sense ,we all knew deep down Stendel had performed miracles to get us to this point with a relegated squad and a few untried under 23s, Injury’s have scuppered our season, luck as run out and in my opinion Stendel will have to add a few and go again next season, hope I am wrong but if my head rules my heart I know the odds are not with us
I spoke briefly to Steve after the game. We had matching moods, in fact it was quiet in my van for most of the drive back up. What's concerning about the lack of experience is that there are lots of people at the club that predate the owners tenure. James Cryne for one, plus all the coaching staff and supporters trust. Does no one question the owners or offer advice re the plan and things in general?
This should be shown to everybody at the club, especially to the top echelons. It's why we bother and why we care. The thing is, do they care?
Really enjoyed that,I think he makes a lot of good points there.I do think the loss of Potts and Moncur weakened the overall strength of the squad plus the long term injury to Moore. What is a mystery to me is why we haven't used Adebajayo after not loaning him out,it doesn't send a positive message.
Agree totally with the lads 100 % . They always say strengthen when you’re in a position of power but unfortunately we weakened our squad and gambled on Moore and Woodrow staying fit .
Dont think it was a gamble mate. The millionaire owners dont gamble with their money. This is how its going to be now I'm afraid.
I think we all agreed our first choice 1 to 11 would comfortably finish top two but obviously injuries will impact on that first eleven and to not expect that to happen is being naive and careless.
Potts and moncur were big losses . Both had their flaws but at this level they were top draw . Sure we signed Woodrow in Jan but we were a striker short after the sale of Bradshaw anyway .
So lets ask ourselves, why wasn't stendel given the go ahead to fill in the gaps when we needed the players? Well we did get a replacement goal keeper straight away didnt we.
Moncur was/is toss. Not up to the Championship, and a fish out of water in a pressing game. Isgrove is capable but will never, ever be fit. Potts was one of the brighter lights of the last (crap) season, and was scoring/assisting for us when we cashed in on him. It was always unlikely we would acquire/already have on the books someone of a similar standard. But the big deficit is with strikers. For lots of this season we've only had one fit at any one time. I fear we will live to regret not doing whatever was needed to get George Miller on board straightaway, or signing someone else. We are also a central defender short but have been lucky - thus far - with injuries in that position.
Been watching Tykes TV most of the season. Honest views from fans that travel all over. Strangely enough though, not via a link thats been posted on here. Hmmm. Certainly didn’t see any links posted during the better times.
Having watched tykes tv over the season I have ever seen the lads so low in post match interviews. I totally agree with their views though which seem to point ti a great chance of automatic promotion skipping through our fingers due to tgw reasons they state clearly. Granted nobody could forsee the injury to Moore but the sale of Potts and the transfer of Moncur to our promotion rivals should have told us something about the boards ambition. To get us over the line we needed to add a bit of experience and/or quality to the squad and we did just the reverse. I think it is as come back to haunt us but remain in hope of promotion by the playoffs.
It's a conspiracy I tell you. Seen loads of links myself. Wouldn't know about them but for links from here.
