All clubs are selling clubs tbh even Man UTD when the price is right .
Not many players are at any club for long periods tbh.
Some clubs can recruit the calibre of player to keep their status quo , mixing lower league foundlings or through the academy .
But even then it’s not a precise science as some of the so called bigger clubs have found out .
Good, experienced or ex higher league players are not a guarantee for stability or promotion .

 

I think we'd all like them to give us an initial boost if cash to get us to mid Championship level but that doesn't seem to be in their thoughts unfortunately.
The thing is we have to hope they have a good medium to long term plan because there are unlikely to be any other interested parties out there to take us over and invest more heavily short term. In the meantime it is what it is, we're a pretty well funded third tier club who should be one of the favourites in any given season to go up. That doesn't mean actually going up is nailed on though, just ask Sheff Utd.

 

Agreed. I'm not saying I wouldn't have wished for a couple of old heads in the team, especially the last month or so but it doesn't seem to be remotely in the plan so I guess we have to keep our fingers crossed.

 

I think the bottom line is the average player stays at a club for 2 seasons.Its about getting the best deal when they decide to move on.Normally the (football) food chain dictates how long a player stays.If the team does well players like Hourahaine, Winnall Bree etc will have there admirers who can blow us out of the water.Sad but true.

 

I had a big part too when I shouted "go on" while holding a can of beer in my mate's living room.
