Is the Queen really a Jewish Lizard? Cripes! I'd always thought of her as a fluffy bunnyesque kind of leech. Just shows ya.

You’re right - lesson in not responding to a post after half reading it.
Still stand by the point that the article is pseudo science though.

I agree with that. I put that stuff on to create discussion. I think the best quote to sum it all up came from Jay.......

"Science is amazing. The analysis of it a complete abomination."

My favourite on those lines lately was the summary from a group of Doctors after some research that eating a rasher of bacon takes 9 minutes off your life!!! Whilst diet and lifestyle obviously has an impact on life expectancy and overall health there are far too may variables - genes, environment etc to come up with specifics like that. Many projections and predictions after 'research' (often sponsored by parties with vested interests) do a major dis-service to science as a whole.
That is why, whilst I dont dispute Global warming, the detailed predictions of what the planet will be like in, say another 100 years, I take with a pinch of salt. far too many variables, and tricks that nature has up its sleeve to state with certainty that the planet will be 4-5 degrees warmer with all the catastrophic consequences that would bring. Remember the irreparable ozone layer hole someone has already mention on this thread? Oh! hang on! It repaired itself.

This is worryingly arrogant. The reason that you give for not trusting research is the influence of parties with a vested interest. In the case of climate change all the money and vested interests are on the side of denial yet there is a wide consensus that it is a real and serious danger.

As for "fvck it we'll do what we want and the planet will sort itself out," Jesus.

If we take steps to correct climate change and it turns out the predictions were worse than the reality ever would have been then what's the harm? But on the other hand if we do nothing and sleepwalk across the event horizon...
