There is no way that this season could be deemed anything other than a successful one. It's been wonderful. Whether we go up or not.
Disagree.. From day 1, this season, was all about finishing in the top two. By the owners, the clubs management team and fans, lets not forget. Its all about the finish to come. It boils down to the next two games. If we're still in L1 next season then this season will be a failure... Like it or not Maybe a valiant effort.. but still a failure. Lets hope we finish the job that was demanded last summer.
Not what you need to watch just before going to bed all fired up now and need a good nights sleep as got to drive from Surrey first thing - need to be in Wombwell by 11am for non football reasons initially then obviously on to Oakwell Great video Whitey
And I disagree with you - Team picked up heading for over 90 points - if we are unlucky enough for 2 other sides to also excel its disappointing but I cant say this season is a failure even if we fall at the last because Pompey won the last 11 on the trot. I thought most of us at the season start thought reaching the playoffs was the target given the lack of confidence in the squad and unknown manager
From day 1 there were 24 other teams with the same idea. We have no more of a divine right than any other team to finish in the top 2. Football is entertainment. Well for me it is. You can think that winning is everything if you want. This season we have often been glad on the eye. We haven't clogged or lumped it up front to win games. We've won by playing proper football. If that hasn't been quite enough this season, then I hope we do enough next year. You don't judge success by whether your kids are in the top 2 in their class (hopefully). You look at their progress, how much pleasure they provide, what they do well, how much you care for them. We may not get promoted. But this season my team has not failed me. Quite the contrary. Had it not been for my man crush on Mike Lester, I my well have enjoyed this season second only to the PL promotion campaign.
And I don't mind.. I'm not offended in the slightest. Contrary to the age we live in, disagreement is still not a crime.
Hang on a minute... 'filthy' 'stinking'. What a load of ********. As for the hypocrite comment please explain
Is it a failure though, really? It's all about context. If you'd told people at the start of the season that Kieffer Moore was going to be out for several months and offered them the option of being on 88 points with 2 games to go I don't think you'd find one single Barnsley supporter in their right mind who wouldn't have snapped your hand off to accept that.
Cracking piece of work, has a huge whitey theme about it. Fired me up ready for tomorrow!! Come on reds. All you guys can do now, is put on a show, win both games.. that's all we ask. Don't give a dam about any other results. Just win our last 2... And you'll all go down in history!! Promotion or not!! COYR
If we don't go up I'll be bitterly disappointed. But considering the points total we've amassed, to start criticising the players and club if we do stay down would be extremely churlish.
