    I know Conan. It must be me rather than you continuing your unending agenda on all things Scottish or the inability of small clubs to produce players worthy of us. Like Pinnock and Lindsay for example.

    Terrible Barnsley team, even worse Stockport team. Didn't Carlton Palmer score a comedy own goal?

    Edit - having said that, I'm just looking at our lineup now:

    Barnsley: Miller, Mulligan, Morgan, Chettle, Barker, Donovan, Lumsdon, Gary Jones, Barnard, Dyer, Sheron

    Some dross there without doubt. But surely no team with Kevin Miller in goal, a back four including Morgan and Barker, Dyer and Sheron up front and Barnard on the left wing should ever, ever have got itself into relegation trouble?

    Never forget that goal, brother and I are Palmers. When Carlton sank that goal and all the reds fans were chanting “Palmer, Palmer...” we were living the dream. These days have to make do with having our name on the shirt.

    You’d think not.

    It’s testament therefore to how bad people like Steve Chettle, Gary Jones, Chris Lumsdon and Kevin Donovan were.

    That central midfield wasnt good enough for the next level down, never mind second tier.
