........... where the owner didn’t get players signed up after promotion from the 1st Division - and it resulted in the January 2017 debacle of a potential promotion winnng side to the Premeir League being split up and sold. Let’s have this current crop of players on better and longer contracts. This debate is going to rumble on until August now. And I’m looking forward to it.
Speaking of falling into traps, how come you've fallen into the same trap as Conan? Criticising Patrick Cryne at every little opportunity. Its a little distasteful.
... Guess after yesterday's agreement... For some... The party's over... Lol Whilst you might be right in your thinking.. Thi timing is terrible... Surely the act of timing is every comedians best weapon... Boom boom
Follow on from a Nudger post last night... (32 year old crying) bsly loyal thread... Keep up lad keep up lol
I’m pretty sure we have people in the club who are well aware of what happened last time and will be doing all they can to stop a repeat of it. Least avoiding the play offs also gives us more to plan and prepare for next season.
Very interesting to see how we approach life in the championship under new owners. They had very little time to do anything last time then made a terrible appointment when Hecky left. I'm not expecting to see massive spending but also would like to think we will start to recruit players from a higher level than we have previously or not find ourselves needing to blood so many at once which was the problem last time. Time will tell but glad we are in the championship so we can find out.
The first signing I want to see is Stendel on a longer more lucrative contract so we don't see his head turned!
We will simply have to have faith that the Board don't make the same mistakes as they did in the previous season. Contrary to what some might think, this Board are pretty shrewd, they want success. No need to "frill it up," they are there to generate income, so it will be very interesting to see how far their collective ambitions really do go. Had a look at the possible teams we will face next season. It's not going to be easy. Aside from who goes up with Norwich and Sheffield United, there are some big hitters in the Championship and lest we forget, Huddersfield, Fulham and either Cardiff or Brighton will also be awash with cash from parachute payments. If we are to simply consolidate our position in that league, surely we must hold on to who we know can cut it in the division above and sign some proven quality, be they from Germany or wherever, to replace the boys that we will inevitably move on. For me, 2019/20 will be one we reflect upon in the coming years as our defining season and hopefully we might be able to look to a much brighter future for our Club.
Yep - this is the start for these owners. The PROPER start. We will see what thier real intentions are in the coming days, weeks and months.
I am. And I’m not having a dig at PC - has some have said on here. I’m stating facts. Only recently have we been through the mill with a team just up from the 1st Division. We don’t want to go through that ever again. But yes - I’m more than enjoying the moment. Stress levels have taken a huge dip since yesterday. Loving every minute of this.
That's all very well, Mr Gally but do you remember what happened after we signed Hecky on a longer more lucrative contract?
