I hope they recover quick. I could smell the alcohol on Darren Sheridan’s breath from Row M last time around.
I remember going to the town hall after the 2006 promotion & Paul Reid could hardly stand up he was that pissed
Remember the final game after we beat Bradford to go up to the Premiership in Season 1996/97. We went to Oxford away, hoping we could end the season in style and they looked as though they'd all been on the sauce all week ( ahem) and we got absolutely hammered 5-1. Mind you, I were still pi**ed from the previous Saturday night in Barnsley. What a mad mad night that was. ? Everybody in town was really happy which was great to be part of. Football has an uncanny way of stirring territorial pride if the Home town team enjoy any kind of success. It gives a town an identity that folk can connect with especially if they are seen as the underdog. I went to Tenerife in that close season and we stopped to have a drink in a pavement bar in Costa Adeje and the Spanish barman smiled, shook my hand and with his thumb in the air, pointed at the badge on my Club shirt and said " Yay Barnaslee" which was great.
