Toney definitely seems to have come on in leaps and bounds since we had him. Though against us at Oakwell he looked every inch a run of the mill League 1 striker. Difficult to judge from one game though, and some of his finishing has looked top notch on highlights. I can't say one way or the other whether he's ready for the Championship though. But personally, I think we should be looking at a small, pacey striker to complement Moore and Woodrow. If we're lacking in anything going forward, it's definitely pace.

Divided opinion on here but I'd like to see us go in for Joe Williams again to strengthen midfield.

Why’s everyone desperate for loan players given the season we’ve just had? The board has set its stall out in that we’ll only target loan signings where there’s an option in the club’s favour to make the move permanent, as we’ve seen with Woodrow and Bähre. Obviously that could change and if an out of this world talent became available on loan but otherwise I’d expect us to stick to the model. I certainly don’t want to see old heads, mercenaries or short term loanees as we’ve been there before and it isn’t sustainable long term. In the spreadsheet we trust.

They were my thoughts. The lad at Charlton, Lyle Taylor, has an excellent record but he's 29. Seeing as we're unlikely to be in the market for an Championship striker, I reckon we'll be looking either at young Premier League reserves or abroad. Talking of which, wouldn't you just love to see Woodrow bagging a couple against Fulham next season, and Jordan Williams terrorising Hudderfield's left back?

James Bree and Mason Holgate. Holgate might be a push, possibly a loan, but I think Bree may be obtainable, depending upon wages and if Villa go up. Both would strengthen us and fit the mould of what we are looking for.

I think suprises are in store and some maybe are going to be way off the pace never mind the path in terms of who our recruitment brings in ..who knows it might be me ... but I'd lay money that the majority of players coming in will be Foreign possibly young German and French lads or lads playing in either those leagues coming in

Nice to grab those 2 lads from under their noses while they focused on their prem season . Have Ipswich/ rovrum/ Bolton have anyone worth signing ? If not I could see us increasingly getting drawn to international markets...
