16 goals for Accrington in 43 appearances. 3 in 31 for Ipswich. Granted, it's a bit difficult to pass judgement on someone playing in such a rancid team, but it's still not a great record, to put it mildly.
Luke Thomas seems to fit the remit, but unsure if he'd be able to step up a level and be a consistent Championship performer straight away- seems to be lacking a little bit of experience.
Reading the Luton forum they are interested in toney doubt they could afford him to be honest I think posh would want alot for him.
Reading through most if not all the names suggested I'm glad none on here will play any part in the recruitment process, raiding relegated teams who players have failed at the level we are now in or from teams who finished below us to replace our own players who out performed them, beggers belief really it was that mindset that led us to fail last time, we can't make the same mistakes again
Martin Cranie failed with us but has now been promoted with both Huddersfield and Sheffield United, it's not that black and white.
He played 60+ minutes in seven games since February, with further appearances from the bench. The point however is that he is/was still an effective Championship player, despite relegation with ourselves and Coventry.
Steve Bruce says he's going to have a mass clear out over the close season at Wednesday. I heard keeper Westwood's name being mentioned but couldn't quite catch any others as I moved to another room. Are there any of their players who we think might improve our team.? Watching Match of the Day 2 on the Beeb. Chelsea skipper Gary Cahill is being released after the season ends. As I've said in a previous thread, it would be nice if for once, we could deviate from our usual modus operandi and bring a couple of experienced " old hands" to mentor our younger players. OK Cahill who hails from Dronfield might be 33 years old, but he's looked after himself. I know it's highly unlikely, but someone of that quality with his international pedigree, could well be a good signing for a Championship Club looking to consolidate their position in the league. Having said that, he's a keen Wednesday fan, so I wouldn't be surprised if he turns up at Hillsborough.
It simply beggers (sic) belief that you'd refute a statement, implied as fact, with evidence to the contrary.
Luke Steele - if Davies goes, old head with Championship and club know-how Mark Beevers - as above if we lose a centre back. Should be available on a free and would be a good squad player Josh Cullen - been on loan at Charlton from West Ham. Hard working midfielder who would complement what we've got Mallik Wilks - top of my list. Donny have had him on loan from Leeds. Looked good enough to be a threat in the Champ when playing against us and we need to strengthen wide areas Tyler Walker - banged them in on loan at Mansfield from Forest. Would cost CJ Hamilton - another who's had a good season at Mansfield. Left sided fast winger who knows where the net is
Malik Wilks signed a 2 year contract extension with Leeds which suggests that they see him as one for the future
