    This initial post hasn’t done too badly considering that a few lazy thinkers have said it’s all been discussed before.
    Yes - player recruitment has been discussed thousands of time.
    But some on here need to understand that when there is a new slant (no matter how slight) then that topic will be discussed again.

    I've read most of this thread (and managed to negotiate the point scoring) and all I can contribute is that I think the squad needs strengthening. I may be wrong of course but if I'm right I'm not particularly bothered about how that is done other than it improves the club in the longer term. Lets just see what the board actually do.

    The same strategy that involved dismantling that team and replacing it with inferior and less experienced players. The strategy takes us forward in the short term, but longer it will only take us backwards.

    The inferior player who have just got us back to the championship with a record points total maybe if we had a proper manager in charge as opposed to 2 woo had nightmares we could have stayed up we only missed out by one point.
    What strategy would you adapt if you were in charge? Any over 25s you would like to see us sign?

    We went from 7th in January 2017 to 22nd in May 2018 by following the strategy. You can put all the positive spin on it you want but them's the facts. That's an almighty balls up in my opinion.

    Why are you asking me which over 25s I want to sign when a) we aren't going to b) I don't know what our budget is c) I don't know what the player's wage demands would be d) I'm not a scout.

    From losing Conor end of the 2017 window the 2nd half of the season we won 3 games. 2 against relegated sides. We still had players like Kent,Roberts,yiadom,scowen,matty James,watkins,Bradshaw,Alex mowatt,Adam Armstrong....
    The warning signs started then the 1 upfront and a big hoof to Bradshaw.

    I thought you minght have a idea with you constantly critising the club's strategy. Thought you minght have one.

    I'm not a expert but I'd guess our wage budget is still one where we can't afford proven championship players like say Dwight Gayle and pay them 35k a week hth

    Well we did replace him with McDonald who had a good season so good our then head coach made him captain untill the had a row away at reading at half time.

    I don't know why you keep asking people that. It's fairly obvious that those criticising the strategy, think a blend of youth and experience is needed to survive in the Championship.

    Angus was fast-tracked into the first team because we didn't sign anyone to replace Mawson. He struggled once Roberts was sold.

    Heckingbottom himself said we can't afford proven championship players who are in their prime can't afford their wages. Will you be going any games this season.
