Chuff me nudge. It's Saturday neet have a few beers and forget about football for next couple of months
The squad is nowhere near good enough for the championship as it stands but im hoping come august it certainly will be!
As it stands I think it's good for championship I just think it's going to get picked to bits by other clubs.
Have a Friday night in the Soul Lounge owd Nudge- they play a song you'd like. About once every hour.
Disagree, but I thought that side was capable of promotion to the Prem so I'm not slqgging this side off by saying that. Assuming we keep everyone and all those offered contracts sign up. It won't happen like that but I can hope... Goalkeeper is good enough, so is his deputy. Two good right full backs Two good centre halves 4 good Central midfielders Two decent wingers Two good forwards We need at least one centre half in as cover/competition for Pinnock and Lindsay. Ideally two. As much as I like Pinnillos and think he's a good footballer he just isn't fast enough for the championship, and all the good will in the world isn't going to speed him up. Ben Williams is either not ready or not good enough, I don't know which. A left back is a priority. Brown and Thiam should have plenty to offer. I don't think Hedges has and I don't think Green is ready. We need another winger. Hopefully we'll sign Bahre, but if we intend to play with a number 10 in some games we'll need competition for the position too. We signed a forward in January but I think we'll need another. I'd say if we get a centre half, a left back, a winger and Bahre we'll do OK. If we add another centre half, a forward, another number 10, and a big, hard, fast bugger in Central midfield we'll do very well
Was Bahre a loan with an option to buy? Surely we'd take up that option, or does it still depend on the player agreeing terms?
I agree. It's my opinion, too. Also, I seem to remember back in the Summer of 2016 quite a few posters demanding that we sign 'Championship ready players'. as we didn't have any in the squad. As well as that, they were bemoaning the fact that none of the loan players (Chapman, Fletcher, Brownhill, Isgrove, Toney) had been re-signed, thus making us even weaker. They didn't take into account that the players could (and did) develop & improve. I believe our current Head Coach does develop, improve players and has instilled in them a greater confidence and self belief. He turned them into the winners they are today, from the losers they appeared to be at the end of the 2017/18 season. It'd be barmy to imagine we will be in for another promotion winning campaign, but I think it's well within the club's, and Daniel Stendel's, capabilities to achieve mid table security, similar to what Blackburn have just managed.
