I don't want to get started on Keynesian economics & the multiplier effect.

Blair / Brown got us into trouble by using monetarism, but without keeping tight controls.

Our main issue at the moment is sorting out the uncertainty Brexit has caused. Unfortunately with Boris, that will probably mean us driving off the cliff of a no deal brexit.

Isn't it normally the case that a new PM usually seeks a mandate shortly after assuming office? Can't see Boris doing that even though if ever any new PM ever required a mandate from the people it would be him.

The biggest threat to the UK economy isn't a no deal brexit but a general election where the career Marxist and his ilk get in. Back to the days of bins not getting emptied for weeks, power cuts and a multitude of strikes. No thanks.
I used to vote labour until I saw the mess the Blair years left, no one gets my vote currently, maybe if we all abstained at the next GE our out of touch career politicians would realise that the islington bubble isn't the be all and end all.
Won't happen though, too many Anti Semites and daydream believers.

Maybe we could vote Liberal, Green, Independent. There's plenty of options on the ballot paper. Anything to undermine the binary, whatever you propose we won't agree with, shambles our democracy has become.

Maybe, just maybe if we were to have a general election then the parties have the opportunity to produce manifesti, setting out which options to go down, in specific order.

This is what democracy should be about (that said there should be some element of PR to underpin all this)

I cannot see how democratic a group of circa 120k (tops) people can be the sole arbiters of which brexit path to go down unless a GE is then called.

I suspect many people would if we had a proper proportional system. Otherwise it's just a wasted vote.

Agree to a point. There's a lot of seats that will remain in the hands of the current big two. Rosettes and donkeys and all that. I think there are many more than normal though where current Labour or Tory incumbents could get a very rough ride.

He attended a remembrance to the hunger strikers and a commemoration to the 8 PIRA terrorists who attempted to blow up loughall police station and murder the RUC policeman on duty, until the SAS got wind of it and turned them into tea bags.

He will never get in, keep him at the helm I say, if they had any other leader ( apart from Macdonald and the Abacus) they would IMO walk the next GE, I believe its Corbyn himself not the party who are ensuring he never Grace's no 10

I F ing wouldn't, I would rather go apple bobbing in a chip pan than vote for him, saying that the amount of life long labour supporters who wont vote for the party whilst he is ringmaster is staggering

And I’m one of them. Too many folk vote as their dads and grandads did whilst taking no notice of the uncomfortable truths

The Tories back terrorists all over the world. Dont think any party has the monopoly on that. At least Corbyn is open and consistent in his beliefs. .Remember the quote one means terrorist is another nasty freedom fighter.

Never knew our government supplied weapons to ISIS, ( I thought we spent billions on fighting them)ref timber Sycamore we helped train the rebels to topple ( which we didnt) the Syrian regime it may well have morphed into a terrorist organisation but it wasn't that the time

To all you Corbyn haters - go on all you like about him. If there was one ounce of truth spouted on here and elsewhere about 'terrorist sympathiser' don't you think there was some hard actual facts, like the UK government actually being in talks whilst
Or would you prefer to talk about our country arming other countries with known atrocities against innocent people.
