Think we will be fine - just. Agree with LR it depends on who we sign and who we sell. Don't think Daniel will leave unless it's to go home. 18/19/20th would be my guess. Think we will be in the mini league at the bottom half but I honestly think we will be fine at the end as long as we dont have a fire sale come January
It's a bit too early to be making predictions at this stage. We really need to know who will be playing for us and who the manager will be first. If it is DS, and I believe he will be, then I think we'll be ok. How successful we are will depend on who we sign and who we retain.
That says to me - bouncing along the bottom. As in - not progressed under these new owners. In saying that - I’m expecting a struggle next season as the team adjusts to the Championship. We will not get away with the mistakes that we saw last season.
Aim for between 12th and 15th, finish above relegation and we've done enough. If we know we're safe by the end of March that's a genuinely successful season, especially if players are attracting interest. Incremental progression.
I’d go for around 18th, I have a feeling our defence will do well but our goal scoring will not quite be good enough to push us up further.
The Championship is a massive step up. I’m not convinced that the same group of players that failed so miserably last time would now be world beaters. A better manager and renewed confidence will help, but the current squad is arguably weaker than the one that was relegated without Yiadom and McBurnie.
Yee of little faith.... Why its Back to back promotions...... Lol . . . . . . Seriously I reckon 10th
Going on the style and commitment to the playing strategy from last season (and this is from someone that didn't witness a win all last term) I'd say were are a match or better than the bottom half of the Championship last year. I'll go 12th - with fingers, toes and testicles crossed.
I’ll go 18th but hope for more , if we can stabilise and improve year on year we heading right way . Last thing I want is owners to gamble on prem and cut their losses if it fails . Our club won’t be able to withstand that imo and FA and Tax man won’t be as lenient with a club like “Barnsley” as they have with other clubs .
At this moment in time, I have no idea whatsoever. The current players who were devoid of confidence by the end of the 2017/18 season could well be totally different with respect to self belief after such a superb promotion winning campaign. I don't know which, if any, of the regular players will move on this Summer. I don't know what quality and impact the incoming signings will have. I don't know which, if any, of the younger players (either already in the first team squad, in the U23's or the Academy) will be able to make the step up and become potential first team starters. And I'm glad I don't know. It's what make the upcoming season so exciting. There'll be others who have no doubt what will happen, but I'm not that clever and knowledgeable.
Having watched quite a bit of the championship on quest and some full matches on sky I'm not too fearful. West Brom/ Leeds for eg.looked way above us bit I think we can hold our own against the majority in terms of scoring. Its those errors at the end of games that could cost us so match fitness and concentration will be key.
