Think Mcgeehan will sign given that Mowatt and Woodrow have. And I think the others will . After all, they perform well and it would be even bigger bucks.
Like the Chronicle with the Reds, Teeside Live usually get regular updates that come out of the Riverside. Their latest piece appears to confirm that no approach has been made by Middlesbrough FC to Barnsley FC, with a view to getting permission to speak to Daniel Stendel over their Managerial vacancy. Whilst not emphatically saying that he's definitely going to stay, Daniels representatives seem to infer that that could well be the case. Let's hope that is what eventually happens. https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport...tendel-concentrating-barnsley-future-16378245
2 decent players (Hedges & Jackson) have left - not quite sure what’s happening with Davies but we shouldn’t let this drag on - Davies can make his mind up or we can just move on elsewhere. Brown & Woodrow signing new contracts (& Mowatt & Dougall before them) plus the option on Cavaré is positive. As is signing Bähre. As said above, MacGeehan, Pinnock & Lyndsey could be key if contracts are extended - obviously, we must keep hold of Kieffer n’all. I hope I’m not going daft but I feel confident for the summer
When the owners took over they stated there would be prepared to put enough in for a tilt at the premiership..
So Barnsley say no approach,Boro say no approach but a paper assumes he's waiting to see his budget and everyone goes ga ga.As Donald would say Fake News.
If Boro have ambition I'd expect Hughton to be talked to. The guy has two promotions to the Premier League & they have better prospects than Swansea. DS is right to see how he is backed by the board before signing a new deal with us. If he was more naive than that, he wouldn't be the great manager I think he is / can be. He will go at some stage, that is for certain, but a mid table finish would open a lot of doors back in Germany too, where he might want to end up.
‘Not going crazy’ has meaning when combined with the fact they they praised the current recruitment strategy, along with saying they want to stick to it. They literally told us exactly what their plan was, but you just reply with "yes, but the fact they say exactly what their plan is, is what's so ambiguous about it..." (except with more grunts, capital letters and ellipsis)
I’m comparing it with the years before. As I’ve mentioned before last 10 years or more, nothing built on the field ....... or off it.
Abysmal?????? You really need to start watching Man Utd or city or Liverpool or summat as your clearly not suited to teams like Barnsley .
I can't see what all the fuss is about? Everyone knows it's buy cheap, sell high, young hungry and so on. Not everyone likes that. I can't see what assurances Stendel would want based on the clubs current stance. If he leaves. Someone else will no doubt come in and work to the plan. I can't see the club doing anything eye popping to hasten Stendel signing a new deal.
And like I've told you several times before, from Hunter to Wilson, absolutely nothing and crowds of 7 or 8,000. The successful little era of getting into the premier league and almost returning almost sent us out of business. I've enjoyed my trips to Wembley, Cardiff and the latest promotion, including going a full season unbeaten at Oakwell. Also notable that crowds haven't dropped back bellow the pre premier league season. 20 years. Which years before you're comparing that with, I haven't a clue, because the good times were few and far between.
That might explain the mute atmosphere at Oakwell as the majority of fans have just accepted their lot
What 'lot'? Do you mean not losing a home game in a calendar year? Do you really think people go to watch football matches with one eye on what's going on behind the scenes, or comparing us to previous years? I go all over the country watching the reds, and the atmosphere at most grounds is exactly the same.
I always consider what’s happening OFF the field when I watch the Super Tykes. If it’s not happening off the field ....... then it definitely WILL NOT happen on it. As for the atmosphere this season at the WELL - to say we have not lost and won most games the atmosphere has been weird. Comparatively down beat to previous seasons. And my explaination for that is that it’s the type of football we are playing. Comparatively speaking - there has been very few incidents in the opposition penalty area. Most attacks usually finishing with a poor last pass or a shot that knocks a floodlight off it’s mounting. Again, comparatively speaking - many of the goals this season have been speculative shots from distant that have gone in. Hence there’s probably been more ‘wonder’ goals this season than all the previous 10 seasons combined.
I think the opposite there haven't been enough simple goals. For example ball down wing, cross into box, nodded/tapped in by either Moore or Woodrow. Ball through middle Woodrow runs onto it rounds keeper, scores. Some of our play has been sublime compared to that. Sweeping moves like against Bradford City and away at Southend.
