According to BBC’s sports football Gossip page, Bournemouth have asked to be kept in touch with developments?
Article in Bristol paper reckons that Celtic have ended their interest in Turnbull, leaving us and Bristol City to vie over his signature. It claims that Motherwell have already rejected bids of £2 million. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...ic-out-running-goalscoring-midfielder-2958430
I think Celtic could be cutting their noses off to spite their faces a bit here. Having said that if we want him that bid ask Motherwell what they want for him and take it from there.
I'm not sure SD, but I read somewhere that Motherwell have set the fee at £3 million. First Club that meets that valuation can have him apparently. Johnson looks to have some money after selling defender Lloyd Kelly to Bournemouth for in excess of £13 million.
There's a fear factor with Johnson though. He's frittered away a few million whilst he's been manager there. Seemingly for no reward.
Agree. The pressure will mount on him this season. Their owner Stephen Landsdown has ploughed millions into the Club. He's refurbished Ashton Gate at considerable cost and a new training complex has also been also provided. It looks like his expectations match those of the fan base, which appears to be the Premiership at all cost. The Club certainly looks geared up for it. Johnson will know that it's time for him to deliver, otherwise he could well be turfed out. Having said that, like he's done in the past, he's wily enough to jump ship, before it ever came to that. He seems to be able to get them up there in and around the right place to mount a challenge, only for them to miss out, which can only surely be tolerated for so long.
Can you sign a player on their own turf? (Providing the paperwork is correct.) The reason I ask this. The number of transfers that fall though and you get gazumped waiting for the player to travel down for talks and on their way down the agent gets a call and they go somewhere else without even visiting the club they were initially to sign for anyway.
Same thing happened with Willian... he was seconds away from signing for Tottenham, but Chelsea jumped in and snatched him.
