....... players picked off one by one because the wages are higher elsewhere. If this happens throughout this summer it is very likely to result in Stendel abandoning ship. When the present owners took over I hoped those days were behind us.
Calm down. We’ll be fine. We will only sell players in the last year of their deal if they won’t sign extensions
Unless we are willing to increase our wage bill by about 500% this is going to happen. We have to make the most of the situation by getting the best price we can for our players and making sure we always have a contingency plan.
Stendel will have known the situation. The new players coming in presumably are more suited to his style of play so I dont think we need panic yet
This definitely needed a new thread. There is no possible way it could have been accommodated in the existing Lindsay one. No way at all.
I'd have similar feelings if it was Pinnock going. I'm not totally concerned about Lindsay leaving, he was decent in L1 but there are better defenders out there, more suited to Championship level. We always seem to find a class centre half so I aint worried.
Dissappointed as anyone if Lindsay goes but not surprised really. Just hope board reinvest and Stendel is satisfied with their efforts. Sounds like agents pull the strings yet again. Lets face it Lindsay and others including Davies struggled in a higher division. The pedigree of some players with be tested in the forrthcoming season. The championship is not league1...but I have faith . Its the only way really otherwise we might as well call it a day and stay at home every other Saturday.
That’s the last thing I want to hear ........ ‘we’ll be reight’ !!! The last time I heard ........ ‘we’ll be reight’ was during 01/17 when it was continually being said by the vast majority on here to me and an handful of others. I warned then what was likely to happen - and although I’m not panicking just yet - I will be panicking if this team is picked apart.
"After Lindsay news ..... anyone else getting the feeling we are going to be trampled underfoot again" No. I think you should at least try to understand our business model. Once you get your head around it you'll be a happier fan and then you won't have to spout this guff anymore. Everyone wins.
He allegedly won’t talk to the club. I would flog him based on that alone and reckon we can get a replacement just as good. Price is fair enough. It’s not like we are giving players away like we did with Conor and Sammy the snake is it? What else can we realistically do?
That’s the point - what can we do? I don’t know. But I do know that the owners have got to do something that brings us more into line with other clubs. I don’t know of any other club that has this level of interest in its players during the summer and January transfer windows. I suppose that is good in one way because it shows the players are doing well. But on the other hand this high level of interest undermines the structure of the side and distracts the players.
If he’s been sold i’d find that disappointing. If it’s for £3m, that’s a bit undervalued for me but not worth dying in a ditch over. If we’re not told what the fee is, that’s annoying and disrespectful of the support. If the money is reinvested in a decent replacement then so be it. If we buy some anglepoise lamps instead, i’ll be a bit pissy. If this is the January sale but a bit earlier, i’ll be very pissed off.
If the bigger clubs were coming in and paying top dollar for our players then I’m sure there wouldn’t be any concerns. But that’s not the case is it. At some stage the club has to be competitive not just on the field but off it as well. Morsey going back to League 1 Wigan for better wages springs to mind.
You have to patient ,it takes time to build up a club which is what we are in the process of doing. Rome wasn,t built in a day as the saying goes.
