Assuming Lyndsay leaves I think we are 2 central defenders and a striker maybe 2 short.
Will we have enough to start the new season?

We don't want short strikers....they need to be at least 6 foot 8.....

    ....oh...and have knees ;)

Certainly need 2 CBs- I don’t know if Miller will be ready (cos I know little about him) - we struggled when Cauley & then Kieffer were injured so yes, zither (nippy) striker please
We’ve replaced Hedges & Davies already but will need additional options in this league

Lets assume we start the season with this 11:

    GK: Collins
    LB: Pinillos
    CB: Pinnock
    CB:
    RB: Cavare
    LM: Thomas
    CM: Mowatt
    CM: Mcgeehan
    RM: Brown
    ST: Woodrow
    ST: Moore

Subs: Walton, Williams, Dougall, Thiam, Bahre, Victor, Green,

So from that you see we clearly need two more centre backs coming in (one straight into the first team and one to compete for a place), we need a left back and a striker to put pressure on Woodrow and Moore.

I'd say those are vital to get before the start of the season ,two centre backs, a left back and a striker.

Assuming Davies goes, we have Collins, Walton, Greatorex and Kendrick, so we need anther goalkeeper (with knees and long legs) before the season starts.

    2 X centres backs
    1 X left back
    1 X midfielder
    2 X strikers

In my opinion & all that.

Three centre backs - on the basis Liam is off and Pinnock will be either now or Jan.

Still concerned since Mapplewell Red seems to be really ITK (The medicals thread yesterday) to the extent that I have always strongly suspected he is RedArmyChris.
He stated the other day with seeming certainty that Pinnock was off. If that happens we need a really big signing to fill the gap. Be good to get confirmation one way or another sooner than later.

    In my opinion we need:

    2 Centre Backs
    1 Winger
1 striker to play back up to Moore and Woodrow
    1 back up holding midfielder

I think midfield might be sorted although I'd like to sign a more direct player that runs from the middle like Potts started to do. Excited for young Styles. Hope he stays and fights for a place rather than being loaned out.

Another striker is a must. Definitely need two centre backs and a left back.

Be good to see Thiam, Pinillos sign new deals. Not getting my hopes up about Pinnock can see a lower end Premiership club taking a chance on him.

I suppose a lot depends on whether Daniel Stendel plans to include some of the younger squad players (eg. Walton, the 2 Williams lads, Styles, Miller, Green, plus any other promising kids from the U23's) on a regular basis with the matchday 17, which will dictate just how many we sign. Were Lindsay to leave, as seems likely, then a couple of defenders will probably be needed. Also, I think the number of incoming deals will increase over the next few weeks.
All in all, I would be astonished if we don't have a competitive squad by the time the transfer window closes on the 8th August.

Walton is decent back up, for me. The two Williams and Styles did enough to be in Stendel's plans.
As for the last two, we'll have to wait and see, both strange signings for me. Miller is at best a punt.. done nothing at Boro or Bradford. As for Green at 24 he is not a youngster, not at Oakwell anyway. For someone who had limited ability and game time in L1, how much opportunity will he get in the championship. And at 24 if your not a first team regular you never will be.
I still think we're 4 -5 players short as yet for next season..

As I said, it's whether Daniel Stendel sees them as part of his first team squad for next season which will dictate how many more incoming transfers there'll be. If he has faith in their abilities, they'll stay irrespective of the opinions of fans.

Don't think 2 centre halves is enough if Lindsay leaves.....that would mean if either of the first choice pairing were unavailable (injury, suspension etc), we wouldn't have one on the bench. My only other concern is left back.....we need a better, pacier first choice option IMO. Pinillos reminds me a lot of Tom Kennedy and I feel he will get found out at this level. I think it is too early for Ben Williams.

I still think we need a fair few additions. Our squad looked thin at times last season, and that was in a lower division.

A couple of central defenders is a must, or maybe even three depending on Pinnock. We missed having another option upfront, last season, and I’d like to think we’ll be able to find somebody to ‘compete’ with Moore/Woodrow now we’re in the Championship. I’m not convinced by Green or Ben Williams, so I’d like to see us sign another left back and winger. If we’re being greedy I’d like to see another midfielder come in too, and let Styles go out on loan to get some regular football.

Plenty of rumours that we’re looking to sign another goalkeeper too.

Correct.. as we've seen with Victor, Sendel would have played wi nine men before stick him on, while the club extends his contract. I like yourself trust our head coach's judgment... ether way.
