    Chaplin would be a no from me. He didn't want to come to Oakwell, and I didn't like the cut of his jib.

    I'm not sure Portsmouth were keen to.let him go to a potential promotion rival so not sure how much it was his decision where he went?

    Not sure he didn't want to come, more that he didn't have the option. It was widely reported that Pompey would only sell to Coventry. I think he could be a good squad player based on the little I have seen of him.

    Ye he’d bring versatility to our forward options so I’m all up for his signature. I’d imagine we may have already been in for him if there was an interest however. I have the feeling that Kone is the number 1 target with Chaplin as Moore’s replacement and then 1 of Miller or Victor as the 4th choice.

    Yeah we did miss a couple that day, especially Browny, but over the whole game I thought it was two evenly matched teams with Chaplin being the only stand-out player.

    Not sure if we had won every game up to that point? But it was certainly our first loss and the first time a team has actually dealt with our press. I came away from that game thinking Cov would be right up there.

    According to people I talk to in Hampshire, we had an interest but was NEVER coming to us.
    Plus chaplin had some people at Coventry, who he knew and trusted.
    Pompy fans told me they thought he had a lot of potential but under their current regime they didn't have the coaches to take him up a level.
    Personally I'm not convinced from the bits I've seen but he he may be a decent sub or back up and we have a track record with our coaching.
