Shocking. Whoever came up with these plans at the council wants sacking immediately.

It’s sad that I’ve lived away from town so long that I don’t understand half of that. I know where a few of those streets are but for the others, despite recognising the names, I can’t picture them in my mind. I guess I’ll just follow the crowd.

What if you're Leeds bound? Do you walk across the tracks because you aren't allowed over the footbridge in the interchange either?

Just don't get why we can't use the crossing on march days?

Exactly this... When Sheffield Wednesday fans get off the train, everyone is walking together down Eldon St, turning on to Schwabisch Gmund Way. Going to be trouble.

Brilliant for the Fan zone if it's open after the game.

Not much else they can do there's a major redevelopment going on and we only had one access road into town.

Why not simply use the crossing like they did end of last season?

The barriers still work so don't see the logic. No doubt some crazy H&S rubbish / insurance issue. It's not like we have all forgotten how to use a level crossing in a few months.

On the whole it a little inconvenient but not bad. Understand it cant be helped in the sense the work has to be done. As others have pointed out could be a real nightmare against Leeds and Wednesday.

Be interesting to see how they deal with large away supporters coming in and landing on that side of the train station like Sheff Weds. surely can’t shepherd us all down Eldon street? There isn’t enough space on the walkways and it’ll cause chaos with the traffic coming up from Asda towards the town centre

Because it will now be a building site, the boards come right up to the crossing, the road will no longer be there soon.

Typical bad planning by BMBC. Theyve known for THREE YEARS that the railway crossing was closing. They could, and should, have had the new permanent bridge in place NOW.

Typically theyve opted for a vanity project costing twice as much and taking three times as long as necessary. Sod all the disabled, the wheelchair users and the football crowds. Bear in mind this also affects shoppers who now cant use Market Gate car park on home Saturday afternoons.

You come out of Leppings Lane straight into the home fans and also Brammall Lane, SYP seem to be able to cope at those places.

You could get a train to Darton then return on the other side of the track , then after get a train to Wombell and return again , easy !!
