But I understand many see the UK as a panacea, a utopia the world envy and now under a churchillianesque blunderbuss, we're all ready to dust off the great ship Britannia and remould a new British world.

Think much better that we splice the mainbrace.

 

Does anybody actually think the EU is immune to cronyism, backhanders, lobbying, lack of transparency, votes being bought? I doubt it. I doubt there's a democratic system in the world that is. Most certainly the British system isn't and it gets more like the f***ed up United States every day. So pointing the finger at any perceived faults within the EU is redundant when we're no better and certainly no justification for the economic self harm we're currently engaged in.

 

Would they be as bothered if Poland left? Problem down to the fact we are one of the biggest economies in Europe and if another country like France or germany to also leave it would leave the e.u in a mess.

 

Why would France or Germany want to leave? It's in their interests to stay despite being net contributors. They are part of one of the biggest and most powerful trading blocks in the world as opposed to being outgunned as individuals.

 

Are they that bothered we're leaving? I doubt it. They'll reallocate budgets accordingly and operate how they need to.

Poland is transforming itself and it has a good deal of industry. Gdansk and Warsaw in particular are developing infrastructure and many new developments.

Take out our financial services sector, and we don't have that much to crow about.
