And one other thing Marlon. I respect you as a person and I'm sure that, politically, we have aims that aren't that far apart but your first line of your answer is telling.
You've been on here long enough to have seen me argue against Tories, against Trump, against Brexit, against racism and against intolerance. I've taken a progressive stance on just about any topic you can care to name yet, because, I don't believe in Corbyn's way or nothing I'm written off as not being good enough.
I'm sure there's a lot more like minded folk who are more interested in seeing things get done than ideology to the exclusion of everything else that are similarly being written off.

Lets follow the Brexit logic. No government is better than this one. Just like No deal is better than the one on the table now.

I think she refers to the statement where its alleged (i dont have the exact quotes) Donald suggested a direct trade agreement with the UK directly would also require US company's access to privatisation of the NHS. No deal Brexit would be the catalyst

Can’t you see the irony in your posts ?
Your right I’m wrong end of ,attitude doesn’t make you right .
Blair’s weren’t centrist labour policies at all they were Tory left policies, policies I would have fought against if a Tory govt had passed them so I don’t see why I should betray my principle because a hi jacked Labour Party passed them.
My principles are true to what I believe in and if a Labour centrist govt took over the party I would back them no question even though they have weren’t fully my principles , but let’s not pretend that that was what Blair’s govt was because choose how you sugar coat it it certainly wasn’t and I’d fight them as hard as the Tory govt he tried to ape.
The irony of your post is that you rage against my type of Labour Party and berate me but because I think the same way about you type of labour I’m in the wrong and should follow you because your right . Which imo you are not ,I think your letting the Tories in because you refuse to back the only type of Labour Party that is currently on offer-as of now it you think I’d let the Tories in because why . Do you think I should follow you and vote Lib Dem? Not f-ing likel.
The only alternative is Corbyn so it’s you who are letting them in and that’s the irony.

    Because the alternative is what?????
What is the alternative if you :we don’t back Corbyn .
He’s the only viable option whether you like it or not it is you letting the Tories in not me I’m voting for the only alternative .
Do you think I should vote for the Lib Dem’s because you think it’s the only alternative?
Well your wrong just as your friends were wrong in the last GE when the polls suggested the Tories were massively in front and called for a GE and Corbyn out did by a large margin any of the arrogant pollsters .
Your swallowing The same mantra as last time that Corbyn can’t win he’s loony left etc etc.
Well yes he can , the labour parties policies are there for all to see , there’s no loony left policies at all it’s the media spin. Which you have so gullibly swallowed .if the Tories get initll be voters like you because voters like me will have voted for the only viable alternative toppose anther Tory govt and you will have swallowed the propaganda.

That’s all hearsay I won’t follow the right wing media line they were wrong last time and they’ll be wrong again .
They predicted the Tories would be out of sight and they lost the majority and had to align themselves with terrorist supporting loonys from a time well gone by.
More people on here think they aren’t being brainwashed but then spout the media line that labour are Marxist etc etc .
It’s part of the plan since the GE they were worried because labour defied the polls .
No credit was given to labour for closing the gap and making it a foregone conclusion for the Tories .
But instead portrayed it as they couldn’t beat the weakest prime minister etc etc.
Well she wasn’t weak before hindsight they were predicting a massive win and strong and stable give , indeed that’s why they held the GE because they thought she was a certainty .
They Underestimated labours support . They aren’t now though they have waged out and out propaganda war hence all the press they are frightened to death .
You could be right about remainers not voting I’ve seen a lot myself but let’s not kid ourselves there are a hell of a lot of Brexiteers in the Labour Party to fall on .
It’s not ideal for me as a remainer but I won’t be pulled away on a single issue despite some on here calling me an idealist.
They’d no one more pro remain than me but other policies of fairness etc comes first.

I'm not making any sort of argument for Blair nor is he relevant to my point.
What I'm saying is that the only way I see Labour winning is to swallow some pride and work with those more centrist.
So if you're saying that in the event of a hung parliament you'd be prepared to work with Lib Dems and Independents then fine. Good on you. What has annoyed me is the recent comments writing off anyone not in the Labour fold as the anti christ including Liberals etc.
I've seen British democracy go down the drain for decades with tribalism. Anything the other lot say is wrong. They're incapable of having a decent idea etc, etc.
The end result is that the country is screwed and utterly divided and it makes me sick.

P.s I've voted Labour numerous times strategically in an effort to do my best to curb the Tories.

Yes I have seen your other posts and can’t understand why the current labour policies are repugnant to you .
You know as well as I do that it’s the policies that should win votes and labours are as fair and centre left than any fir a long time. I can’t be turned on one policy . I’m as anti leave as any poster on here but fairness and opportunityfor all trumps that .
I would love labour to come out and support remain but the truth is there’s many Brexteers in thevoarty as well and it’s a tough balancing act .
I can’t forego all the other great things the party are proposing to follow a one policy agenda .

I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, the problem for me with Corbyn is he doesn’t play the game.
As things currently stand I don’t believe Corbyn can win a GE, that’s not because his policies etc are wrong, but as Marlon said MSM spin on him. This costs him the floating voters and like it or not he needs a fair % of them to succeed.
For me Labour (& JC)needs to up the PR game and show him as a viable alternative, this then changes the whole Political landscape.

Churt you know as well as I do that what’s said leading up to a GE is for total victory .
No party worth their salt would say we’ll work with so and so before the result .
What happens in a close vote is totally different to an out and out campaign to win.
If it were close I would bet my bottom dollar both party’s would court any other party that could get them in power.
And in labours case I wouldn’t bet on conceding a second ref to get the Lib Dem’s or SNP on board.

The Labour policies AREN'T repugnant to me. I'd prefer a more mixed economy than you probably but the bottom line is I want equal opportunities for all, good education, health and jobs. Just like any normal person would. A compassionate society.
What I object to is the branding of those outside the margins of the Labour party as some sort of class traitor and that's been done on more than one occasion on here in the last few days.

Well it's what I'm desperately hoping for.
I've moved to Ireland now and will probably never vote in a UK election again but it doesn't stop me caring deeply about what will always be my country.

I agree. I don't believe all the mud that's been thrown at him for a second, but it's very difficult to argue that he hasn't dealt with it pretty badly. I'd support his replacement, with regret, for that very reason. I suspect a similar social democratic manifesto proposed by somebody like perhaps Angela Rayner would be much more palatable.

I’d say it’s more to do with the policies of the party to which they voted tbh.
If any working man has voted Tory then that’s what they are . All the policies have been give the workers a little give the millionaires a lot .
It’s not just that but you’ve seen the things they’ve done to the NHS , Schools, Students and education in general .our transport infrastructure is on meltdown but the propose billions on a quicker route for the few to London on HS2 etc .
I see young kids working for a pittance of a minimum wage on zero hour contracts .
Any working man whos voted for that is a traitor imo.

I would say there is zero chance of any party securing a majority at a gen election. Under the current voting system probably be in the same position where we would have a coalition government.
Lib Dems are just desperate to be in power they will say anything to buy a vote. I'm surprised that so many people have fallen for their current stance and proudly declaring I have joined the Lib Dems just based on their last entry into government, they could have been far far stronger. Jo Swinson as soon as she won the leadership battle said she would form a coalition government with either Tories or Labour. Yet in the run up to the leadership voting, she defo distanced herself from such.

Out of all the leaders, the one who seems fairly human at the moment is Jonathan Bartley, but he seems to be taking more of a backseat. Green party manifesto doesn't make much sense to me either. Almost seems anti EU in much of their stance on issue thinking they can reform the EU that only wants more and more closer union. So can't vote for them. Keep saying it but I would give my vote to an independent candidate who was brought up and lives in the Barnsley area providing they seemed to want to fight for our town in a positive way.

Take it down one mate. We're effectively on the same side. But it ain't what you or I would vote for - it's the "middle ground" people who swing elections. Corbyn is not, and never will be electable. He is a protest politician with a bad reputation for being sympathetic to enemies of this country. Labour will never regain power until it reoccupies the middle ground. That has to be worth it to get rid of the likes of Boris?

And I think I can promise you I'm not gullible!

The problem for all sides is Brexit . Until it’s sorted out one way or tother it’ll dominate . There’s Tory voters at odds as well as labour .
The Tory’s have more to gain out of Brexit that’s for sure.

I wonder if some people on here are old enough to remember the 18 years out of office for Labour between 1979 and 1997. A dose of reality is needed.

Biggest damage is uncertainty not leaving or remaining. No more delays, get it over with one way or another. I'd far prefer leave but something needs to happen, can't go on past October.

Just enables businesses to plan effectively.
