Il wager it will be far superior to either Clarke or Ponting. The players you said he wasn’t as good as!

They’ve tried everything to him and he’s stood up to it. Baffles me how anyone can’t appreciate that he’s class.

They haven’t thrown much at him at all, he could’ve been out 5 times now, that’s lucky in my book.

I’d average 60+ if you bowled slow half trackers down leg side or wide outside off stump at me

Thinkwe’ve Let them off the hook... as we often do. Wouldn’t like to get last wicket with those conditions, a new ball... and our batsmen

Could be a match winning partnership already given how precarious England's batting is. Rather embarrassing as they had them 120 odd for 8.

Aside from the score... smith batting has reminded me he still wears the crown for the most punchable face in sport

Its been the pattern for some time against the convicts. Crap top order, wagging tail. Maybe one or two of our batsmen can bat properly, or just be as lucky as Smith.

Nothing short of embarrassing now. They can forget working out plans for the other batsman,
**** that off. Some serious homework needed on Steve Smith. Bearing in mind how he played in the last series I'd of have thought that would have been toop of the agenda but obviously not. Who is the England bowling coach for Christ sake? Aussies will be co-ca-hoop from 120 odd for 8 to this. Expect England to be 150 off all out...

A combination of the aussie tail end doing amazingly and our bowlers being a bit shít, mate.

Because we're cack at test match cricket. For all the positives in the 50 over / t20 cricket the test team has gone backwards. It's criminal that we've allowed them to get to this position. Expect Smith to get a century in each game now.
Serious questions needs asking of Joe Root's captaincy, everyone on the boundary for Christ sake.

Bowl full and straight. You miss and you are out. Finally a good delivery to Smith.

I'm sorry, how would you sugarcoat it sweetheart?! Were very good at ODI and T20 cricket but the test team has gone backwards.

I was hoping Anderson would've retired last season. He's struggled with injuries and should not have been picked for this game. Doubt if australia would have reached 200 if he had been fully fit. 4 overs and out of the attack.

Australia scoring 284 in a first innings is no embarrassment. Being 120-odd for 8 at one point and allowing it to get to this is though and I can see where you're coming from. Smith and the tail end did brilliantly in rescuing the innings. I don't think we need to be writing off our chances so soon though.
