You think? A manager doesn't want a 6'5 mobile centre forward who scored 17 league goals in 26 starts last season? I find it very difficult to believe that.
It leaves a sour taste in the mouth that it’s happened one day before the start of the season BUT i just get the feeling he doesn’t fit in with our system. Stendel wants to play fast attacking play and Woodrow/Chaplin/Wilks/Thomas offers us that. Moore doesn’t and I think Stendel would have used him as an impact sub. A very good impact sub but he might not be happy with that role. My guess would be that he had a release clause in his contract for 3m. Have faith in the club. We sold Bradshaw at a similar point last year and brought in Woodrow. The club will have somebody lined up. Fingers crossed.
Understand #barnsleyfc have accepted a 4 million pounds offer from #WAFC for striker Kieffer Moore. Moore will not be in the squad to face #FFC tomorrow, whilst the formalities of the transfer are completed.
Let’s see which clubs are willing to sell us a decent striker for Mickey Mouse money. Only makes sense if we have someone in the building now after all the faffing about all pre season. Naffed off again, understand selling but why for peanuts every time? And yes, 4m is too low. Look at the prices other clubs get. Someone really doesn’t know what they are doing. Or we are not being told something.
Bradshaw went last year, people kicked off about it, we got Woodrow. Who would have Bradshaw instead of Woodrow now? If Moore's not replaced or if we replace him with someone who doesn't do well can understand the issue but as it stands it doesn't bother me.
Bought for £700k and sold for.£4million. Also has anyone considered he may be getting bigger wages at Wigan and wanting more game time? Something we cannot guarantee at Barnsley for Moore.
This with bells on. Likely Moore has pushed this, hence he didn’t go to France. Release clause sounds sensible. And he’s not proven in the Champ, only at L1. Imagine a poor season ahead for him - he’d be worth less than £3m. Who’s to say he’s the same player after his injury too.....
Its bizarre the mental gymnastics some do in order to avoid any criticism of the club.. One day Stendel has no say or impact on transfer dealings, the next he doesn't want Moore so the club are willing to flog him at whatever price they can. One day he's our top scorer that can win games alone on his day, the next he's a bad influence on the dressing room and we need to get shut of ASAP. Consider none of the above correct? Then just make up a release fee to justify! We won't be 3 games in before people are crying out wishing we had Moore to bring on in games. PS How many players are going to go under the affirmation 'didn't want to be here so forced the move' to clubs of remarkably similar stature before we start looking at what can be done to keep them and why they 'don't like it here' so much. Other clubs do not get this to nearly the same extent.
I'll be extremely disappointed if Kieffer were to leave (the same with Davies, Lindsay & Pinnock). However, I thank him for playing such a huge part in what was one of the best seasons in the club's history and wish him well with his future career. He'll always get a warm welcome from me if he plays against us.
