He’s a much more improved, better and more experienced player than his last season in the Championship. Doesn’t make sense to use that as a comparison.
It amazes me how many of our fans are involved in the transfer talks and fees of players we are selling or buying. They seem to know all the financial details of every transaction.
Tremendous piece of business if as reported. Did a great job last year, but this league demands more pace. Jury is very much out as to whether Big Keiffer is a Championship player, so to get £4M would be very shrewd indeed. Not only that, but considering Mr Conway has assured us the income will be reinvested in the team, it puts us in a strong position - possibly worth holding onto the cash until January though when we will know how the land lies.
Fee not too bad. Timing horrendous. Only Barnsley aye? Absolute joke. No ambition. He’s not under contact either: Nothing will change. Are we on par with teams like Macclesfield in terms of club size and attraction. Feels like it...
The land in January might lie a hell of a lot better if we spend the dosh now. We're only in a strong position if we strengthen the team.
Bloody ell I've only been a sleep for 4 hours and Armageddon happened. We're all doomed. He's not been reyt in head since injury. No preseason either. Get him sold and retain an interest. Mr Rossi will be turning up anytime shortly with a German or it'll be a German DS has kept under the radar.
I said similar to this on another thread. If Moore had scored even half the chances he got, we’d be talking 10 million plus. He didn’t do anything like that, and in the 3rd division. What chance in the 2nd tier, unless there’s been a vast improvement during the close season
Picked up a knock didn't he? Or, if we're to believe other users of this forum, was to be sold to another club and the deal fell through. Keiffer Moore is a bit of a one off. I don't remember another player so tall with such pace and acceleration. He's not the fastest, but he's not slow by any stretch of the imagination. He'd scored 16 league goals by the beginning of February before the injury. We don't know if he could repeat that form in the Championship, but I just can't imagine a manager having a player like that and wanting to get rid of him before he's been given a chance.
Totally agree. I wasn’t Kieffers biggest fan last time we were in the champ, he gets bullied to easily for a big guy. Having said that, he was one of our biggest players last season so can see why there’s so much interest. Good business in my eyes.
I agree with that sentiment but even the short amount of history with our new owners points in another direction. So far this summer we’ve taken in about £6m and spent about £3m. Then you can add the extra £5m from being in the championship and we are nowhere near reinvesting to the same levels (At this point I might add). This is also on the back of record ST sales. You know me mate, I’m not one of the negative ones in the main but my patience with it all is getting tested. I’ll still be in the Ponty tomorrow like but it’s not making it any easier year on year having a new team to get behind.
It feels like a credible replacement will be critical to our season - if this is not stating the obvious! Anyway I think he`ll look rubbish in blue and white stripes - won`t suit him at all!
Absolutely spot on. The old 'club men' on here make me laugh. The club can do nothing wrong even if we are bottom of league at Christmas with 3 points it wont be the clubs fault haha!!!
Problem with that is that come January we'll have our hands full trying to replace anybody who's had a half-decent few months.
