Exactly, watch his hat trick against rochdale and then say hes just a clogger. He will be missed as a great foil for woodrow to play off....
I’m totally unimpressed by these owners so far. I can’t get excited about making £3.3 m profit on a player unless it goes into my pocket It also demonstrates terrible business acumen If he scores 10 goals before Xmas which isn’t that unlikely he would be worth double . I think he would. If he misfires he would still be worth at least 3 as he is proven at league one 2 years left on his contract so can’t pull that excuse out The only possibility could be his injury but if he passes his medical it puts that theory’s credibility to bed What are the intentions of these owners because I am not clear
I don't understand this idea that he doesn't suit Stendel's style of play either. Clearly he did and scored umpteen goals in it. It's a nonsense argument.
Hmm read this thread with some interest. A couple of observations based on no inside knowledge whatsoever 1. We dont know if there is some sort of release clause - Moore was signed before the new regime were really in place - if there is there is no much we can do 2. £4million isnt a bad sum if thats really what he is being sold for - he has had a couple of goes at the Championship and not been particularly sucessful - maybe he would do better this time though if in a team with better players round him 3. Maybe he doesnt really fit Stendels plans and his replacement is already lined up but we need to sell him to bring in the new guy - I hope that is the case but I have no evidence yet - we will know in a few days though 4. It may be that Moore actually wants to leave as he doesnt see himself getting as much game time - if he is right turning down 4 million for a squad player used more as a sub would be hard to justify for us. 5. Dont forget he wasnt Stendels player so there may be some issues with the player/manager dynamic 6. We dont know how well he has recovered from last seasons head injury- it could be we are concerned for his fitness and cashing in whilst we still can I dont doubt that our owners and Manager want us to succeed this season so I am certain its not as simple as we are cashing in just because there are £££ signs there - there has to be some planning behind it That said I will be sorry if this is true never faulted his effort for the team and last season he was a key player in our promotion push - I think had he not been injured we could well have been champions. Wont miss him as much as Pinnock though
Stendel repeatedly said last season how important Moore was for the team. If he was fit he played. I'm sure he'd love to keep him but the powers that be might have different ideas.
Spot on. As bad as I feel about the reported fee, it's the club he's joining which really rankles. Why sell our top scorer to a relegation rival? It's shocking business and could be devastating if his replacement isn't effective, he scores goals to keep Wigan out of trouble and we're relegated. Kieffer is proven to work in our team. Any replacement is a gamble. In the last 3 years since Hecky's promotion, we've lost key players to Brentford, Bristol City, Millwall, QPR, Preston, Wigan (twice), Hull and Reading. I hope I don't sound all Wednesday but if we're not willing to compete with clubs like these to retain our best players we're never going to progress beyond being a yo-yo team who struggles in the Championship, never mind challenging for promotion to the Premier League. I'm ****** off that the day before a new season following a fantastic promotion winning campaign, my optimism is so low given we've lost 4 key players and have thrown together an inexperienced defence whom we're asking a lot of. It didn't have to be like that. **** the profit, I want to follow a team who become heroes, not have to start again every 18 months.
I'm a bit 'meh' ......... nothing BFC does really surprises me, either in a good way or bad. Events balance each other out. But what you say about the outgoings v incomings is spot-on. If we take a tonking tomorrow, which is very possible, this board and social media will be a right sh1tstorm and even more toxic than the great firesale of 2016.
The thing that rankles with me, is that it is never us paying 4 million for a striker from a team that will be around us. Never happens.....
Hows Moore been a key player? Before his injury yes he was but since he's been rubbish, If somet he's been 4th choice attacker.Woodrow,Bahre and Brown been more key upfront.£4m for a player who's been no more then a sub is great business for me.
Completely agree, it just adds to the pain of losing one of your best players when they go to clubs that you expect to compete with
The guy scored 16 league goals from 25 starts by the 9th of February. Our season slump coincided with his being out injured. He played 130 minutes of football after his injury - I personally think it's unfair to call him 'rubbish' on the basis of that.
What do you mean rubbish? He only came back with about 3 games to go & only started one of them? How can you say he’s been rubbish? Bahre’s a number 10 & Brown plays on the wing. It’s like me saying who cares about us losing Pinnock when we’ve got Cavare & Pinillos
