Mind you that was a few years ago and prices have got even crazier.

Does make a bit of a mockery of" I want to experience promotion" going to Wigan though! Only one with ambition seems to be Pinnock in terms of which team they've gone to and they're hardly guaranteed promotion..

Apparently £3.15m for Hourihane. Probably a sell on fee too, not that it's been activated yet.

Might be if Villa don't give him a chance.

If we get £4million for Moore (I have heard it’s more like £3million), and it is used on a good replacement, then fair enough.

If, though, as has been suggested we buy Ivan Toney (and Peterborough will want all of that money you’d imagine), then I just don’t see any point whatsoever. The club make no money, we get a younger but worse player (he’s not the same player who left here but he’s not in the same class as Moore in my view).

I don’t mind him being sold if he doesn’t fit what the manager wants and we replace with a different type of forward - Toney certainly is that, he’s a lot smaller, but it doesn’t fill you with confidence if that’s the best we can do.

Thought we got 3million for Conor and he had 6 months left on his contract. Wigan got near on 4 million for grigg so they are most likely using that.

It seems weird that there's nothing about Moore leaving on our official website or that of
    Wigan FC.

There's nothing either on any of the popular sports boards, although there was
a piece on the 1 st August on " News Now" saying that Wigan were interested in him.

Don't know about anyone else, but I find that to be very strange.

Yep, nothing to with what the player wants (imho,)....we have cashed in.
Now, a deal is only a good deal if we get in a decent replacement. Its no good salivating over how much we have in the bank, our assets need to be on the pitch.....money we already have.

Terrible logic. Makes no sense when you even scratch the surface.

Hourihane has 6 months left on his contract and it was an awful deal.

Getting relegated costs us a minimum of £5 million probably nearer £10 million. So it makes little financial sense to waive the white flag before a ball. Is kicked.

I think what we need to understand is we have no idea what clauses are in contracts.
His agent as been touting him around all summer.
This injury niggle for me was a smokescreen in my opinion
If the agent and player wants away what is the point in disrupting the dressing room.
Players have never stayed loyal BOBBY Hassel apart.
We move on timing is rubbish.
    We got over Bradshaw going.

Is there any proof " anywhere" that Moore has left to join Wigan.? I certainly can't find any.
Be rather bizarre if he comes out of our tunnel wearing a Red shirt this ' aft.

Football is all based around opinions. Hence why there’s a divide on this. My opinion is that Moore is yet to prove he can do it in the championship. On current form I’d say not.

The champ is made up of fine margins. You need to bury your chances as they don’t always come along often. Moore needs more chances than any other striker from what I’ve seen. He’s not a natural finisher like Woodrow. Yes he got some goals last season and played well but could’ve buried far more in my opinion.

Other clubs opinions are that he’s hot property hence the clamber for him. I believe this is great business, specially that we paid 700k for him.

Looking at the way the team is going to be setup going forward, we’re moving away from the target man and going for pace. Which in this league, terrifies defences.

Lumping it up to the big man, is what these defences are geared up for, cause every team has a 6ft 6 bruiser at the back and Moore lacks the strength to deal with that.

Good luck to him, let’s hope we can replace him with someone who will hit the ground running straight away

The key is, as you've stated "lets see who is replacement is".
I want to believe the board when they informed us they would be reinvesting the monies into transfer targets, from any sales.
Lets just make that promise happen, with a decent replacement.

Lets not forget about the 7million we get for staying in the championship, all this player turnover means nowt if we get relegated. I get what were about, but selling most of the players that were mainly responsible for promotion seems nuts to me. And has a fan, seems like were supporting a barnsley player academy, with the sole aim of obtaining small amounts of profit for already very wealthy individuals. Dont get attached to anyone if their decent, cos theyll be gone soon.
