It truly was. The fans were magnificent today - all around the ground. Quick thumbs up to the Fulham supporters who applauded alongside the Reds fans after a particularly brilliant move from us in the first half. Proper fans who know their fottball.
One of the pleasing aspects of last season, was that the team looked to be genuinely " together." Given that our new squad have had a relatively short time to get to know each other, it looks very much as though that "togetherness" is hopefully set to continue this term. The shared delight of most of the team when they pursued Luke Thomas to congratulate him on his goal, was heartening. The trip to play in France and Germany must have played a major part in the process of overall team bonding.
The support today was outstanding, the reds fans put a shift in and the team responded, loved the show of appreciation after full time, not enjoyed a day at Oakwell as much for a long time.
Dunno yet mate. I'd like to but going on holiday again a few days later so need to save some pennies and £40 is a decent chunk of change.
Yeah agreed. It’s my eldest’s Birthday and I told him we’d go if we won today. Have two spare spaces in car if you want to go jet me know
It also looked to be a great occasion and a ground with a real sense of atmosphere when watching the highlights back on Quest and Sky. Scott Parker was definitely surprised as to how well we played and how for long periods we effectively managed to neutralise their threat. When interviewed, Daniel was as modest as ever and came over very well when he was asked for his view on how the game had gone. Respectful and complimentary of the opposition , whilst showing his obvious pleasure at the performance of his own team. A truly great effort by everyone involved. Well done Reds.
