@YTBFC ? Has the club got a policy on this? I think it is good business, as well as being morally right.

Seriously well done to all of you. Loads of ways it can be developed. I’d love to know the extent of input from the club, as i think there’s only a certain level that can be achieved on the goodwill of volunteers. Setting up and taking down that kit can’t be quick, but there are things that would be needed to make it a success in poor weather. Absolutely take my hat off to all involved though.

You obviously got there before about 2pm, by which time admission was being refused with the reason "they're about to run out of beer". Wonderful.

It was a gazebo an all!! After all that.

So off we trudged to a queue inside the ground, as long as the Tory "Labour isn't working" poster, where there was one girl behind the bar.

So therefore we turned up about an hour before normal, changed the normal routine to make an effort and show some support and see what was on offer. For nowt

So all in all it wasn't great. It was a farce.

I shall not let it spoil my day!!

One way the club are saving the planet is the lack of air conditioning in the club shop. It was really uncomfortable queuing in there and it was nice to get back outside in 20 degrees heat for a cool down.

The club will have a private commercial waste agreement. If segregation doesn’t take place at the ground, it will take place off-site.

So although all the plastic mentioned is ‘binned’ it will be recycled.

The glasses at the fan zone is something that could be changed eventually, but everything is tricky.

Most venues in Leeds, like Brudenell Social, Belgrave, etc use those types of reusable plastic glass. No one objects to them versus actual glasses & it is clearly more environmental. I'd rather support a football club that was looking at these things.

I agree - although no point pouring a plastic bottle into a plastic glass but Draft should be into a reusable plastic glass like they use at beer festivals.

Other plastics at the club will be recycled though. It’s just trying to change the approach on a few items so more can be re-used at point rather than send away to recycle.

One step at a time though - they’ll get there.

I know - I meant eventually in the future. It’s a long term project I understand.

Club have been integral, it was their idea. Their support made it happen and lots of the clubs staff grafted as much as we did to make it work, especially Andy Clark in marketing.

It wouldn’t have happened without them, and we are only there because of them.

Just had the best shower ever. Absolutely fckashima’d

Really good to hear. It's not a knock, just me trying to support a few posts questioning us becoming more eco friendly. Glad it is already in hand. Keep up the good work.

One of the organisers I spoke to, said, they were catering for 300 then 1 out 1 in. When he approached the bloke/woman using the click counter. They showed him 692. Will improve I'm sure when they have a feel for what's required. Assume a few went along to see the novelty of it. Didn't use it as my lad phoned to say queues were quite long. Certainly no criticism. These things happen. Those that used it appeared to enjoy the experience of it.

We’ll sort that. We did have a few technical issues with the new bar and its a learning experience but will be running like clockwork in no time. Already got ideas for serving quicker
We were told there was a 300 capacity but there were nearer 1100 through the gates

I was put off by the queues too. If it stays that busy all the time it's going to need making bigger, which is a good thing as it will mean it's been a success. Hopefully some sort of thick Redfearns Bar pint container can be mass produced where people get so much off a pint if they bring it to the bar to save on plastic use. Maybe we can get some of those back packs you see at events such as Cricket so you can get a pint on the move without going to the bar. If the capacity is 300 then that's all that should be allowed in. It's not safe to be allowing in 2 or 3 times the capacity surely.

No idea where that message came from. Guess the security’s idea of turning people away without moaning.
