Forget Leese l thought his debut was at Anfield. He played at home to Bolton apparently, the one where Hristov scored.
Currie's debut takes some beating, DeZeeuw's debut v Wolves was immense though. Played Steve Bull off the pitch. He was sent off away at Derby in about his fourth or fifth match for us, ongoing battle with Dean Sturridge saw him go before half time. I think he also scored an own goal at Grimsby in his second game too. Edit: just seen earlier comment about Grimsby own goal, apologies. Bloody WiFi in Turkey......
Best debut I saw was the Hull City game during the 2006/7 season. Istvan Ferenczi. Really important game that and we won easily thanks to him and his mate Peter Razjki. Then he followed that up with the winner away at Stoke.
Own goal at 28.55 on this video. The Derby match is around 34 minutes in, but they don't show a sending off. Doesn't mean it didn't happen though.
Not really a proper debut as he only got 10 minutes at the end but a couple of seasons ago Matty Templeton coming off the bench to make his debut against Blackpool & smashing a 4th into the bottom corner must’ve been one hell of a buzz for the lad
Luke Steele deffo for me . It was unbelievable how he kept Liverpopl out . The defenders was immense that day and when they did get beyond them Steele was there . It would have been harsh to pick a man of the match that day but if i had to it would have been Steele .
In my memory; -Hignett vs Huddersfield, 1998/99 -Carl Barraclough vs Gillingham, 2000/01 -Daniel Nardiello vs Blackpool, 2003/04 -Luke Steele vs Liverpool, 2007/08 -Ollie McBurnie vs Sheffield Wednesday, 2017/18 (home debut)
Andy Rammell, started on the bench, came on around 80 mins and scored with his first touch to give us a 2-1 away victory at Blackburn. Think it was also his football league debut as well.
Not the best but Jason Scotland scoring within a minute of coming on vs Millwall has to be a good one
