    Norman Dean.

Won man of the match in his debut ( a 2-3 loss against Barrow in 1968) and was presented with 40 Park Drive and a Party 7.

    Currie.

    Didn’t Garry O’ Connor have a stormer?

I remember a lot of the above suggestions, but would have to go with Steele just because of how against the odds that day and performance was.
But well done on mentioning Matty Templeton. That was proper heart warming when he scored as he jumped into the Ponty and celebrated like a fan, with the fans. Lovely moment for the young lad that.

Agree about Higgy. Couldn't believe it when I heard that Super John had managed to
persuade him to leave Aberdeen to join us. Always remember his late winning goal against Sheff
United and when he gave us the lead in the play off final at Wembley against Ipswich.

It's all about "ifs", but if Barney had scored that penalty and if Georgie hadn't missed
that sitter against the Tractor boys.

Biggest regrets for me were losing both Higgy and Ashley to Blackburn Rovers.

For me it has to be Luke Steele partly because of the performance but also because of the occasion
I wasnt at Currie's debut so I cant give a fair comparison

Added to that, they both only actually signed, on loan, hours before their debuts so turned out for us without even knowing their team mates' names.

    Danny Nardiello.

He only found out he was on loan to us that afternoon, pegged it over the hills, met his team mates just before the game.

Scored two and made the third.

Think he’s drifted into non-league now but whatever he does in life he’ll always have that moment. Loved seeing the joy on his face & how much it clearly meant to him

I'm sure Garry O Connor ran Leeds ragged on his debut.
