The first 12 minutes of this game indicates to me that NEITHER of these sides could live with us, based on Saturday and our pressing

Two bits of brilliance from Lawrence though. We need to expect this some games.

Looks to be a very big pitch. It's around five yards longer and one yard wider than Oakwell
I believe. Plenty of room for our lads to press. Derby winning 2-1 and look to be defending
OK at the moment, although Town were ramping up the pressure.

Wouldn’t the press be more effective on a smaller pitch I would have thought?

    Two very average teams.

I recall first thing Lee Johnson did when he was appointed at Bristol City, was to shorten/narrow
the Ashton Gate pitch, so you could well be right CT. It certainly denies the more skilful players that
added space to get past their opponents.

Saturday's performance against Fulham was really impressive. You would hope that as the season
progresses, the players benefit from an increase in their fitness/stamina levels so that they are able to
consistently press the opposition for sustained periods.

Be very interesting to see how many teams attempt to neutralise our style of play by knocking long
balls over the top for their forwards to run onto.
