The main thing that really grates me about this, and previous times we’ve played there, is at the end of the game SYP allow Wednesday idiots to congregate outside the ground at the corner of Leppings Lane/the South Stand and goad Reds fans as they make their way out of the Funnel that leads to the road. No action is taken until some respond/ retaliate. Also, last time I went the coaches were lined up on Leppings Lane and Home fans were allowed to walk from the South Stand and down past the coaches. Saw a Wednesday idiot get a right pasting after boarding a coach and giving the big I am. Why do they allow home fans down there? At home against Leeds and at Bramall Lane I’ve this Great ‘Iron wall/ curtain’ deployed across the road to prevent fans mingling ( until at least they get further away from the ground) Why do the same Police Force treat a similar potential volatile situation so differently?
They must all be Fowls fans. I know exactly what you mean though, really irritating when they’ve usually beat us in controversial circumstances.
The delay on this decision is ridiculous really, a full day with nothing. Wednesday and SYP really should have been able to get a decision made. My guess is no more tickets, its only a few days to the game now.
But do SYP not realise that another 1000 Barnsley fans would be £39 grand for the giant club! It would contribute significantly towards Sam Winnalls weekly wage!
BFC: oh hello, SWFC, we’ve sold the first allocation, can we have some more please? SWFC: sorry but no, police advice Pigs: haha, tinpot dingles only bringing 2k Tarn: eh? Burnley are in the Prem! etc etc etc, ad infinitum.....
We have to surely. I know the club would lose money on this. But its hardly fair us getting 2 thousand in a 5 thousand seater stand. And in return give them a massive advantage in our fixture by giving the 5 thousand at our place. Their club is run by incompetent fools.
How has it not yet been decided???? The original allocation was stated as 2091 WITH A FURTHER 1000 UPON REQUEST! So why all of a sudden when it comes to the request is there this time wasting stand still! Its been farcical.
According to Porktalk they are not selling tickets for the North Stand for safety reasons so would be doubtful we will get anymore.
If thats the case just come out with it! And when the original allocation was made that should have been made clear! Its really riled me lol
Nothing has been announced by SWFC either...can't really blame BFC on this one.....read here https://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/topic/284006-north-standsyp/
Reading between the lines, we can’t blame Wednesday for this. Initial allocation of 2k plus more if required. Sounds like SYP are the issue. Bizarre and poor.
Looks like an afternoon of boring Brian Laws or Lurch Pearson on Radio de dar then with of course a sprinkling of reality with Sir Derek Parker
Not laying blame with the club i just cant see what had changed drastically since the original ticket allocation was announced.
The police would have probably gone on the reaction of twitter when the ticket prices were announced. Ill be honest I would've been surprised if we sold over a thousand to the reaction. Rightly so may I add because these prices are ridiculous. The police have probably priced and prepared for a small away following. This all changed with the result Saturday, but what I'm struggling to understand is why are they taking so long to make a decision. They've probably lost a couple of hundred sales leaving it this late, folk would've made other plans.
Not sure this is the fault of the police and believe me I'm no syp fanboy. There will be rules on how many cops needed relating to away attendance. Weeds will have only paid police on the basis of 2000 fans. A 50% increase in away fans at this stage will involve cops drafted in from elsewhere and cancelled rest days so weeds would face a hefty bill. Might not be economically viable at this stage. Miscalculation due to initial penny pinching at the 60 million pound stadium of *****
