I’m basing it on the amount of support and influence he has. He played a large part in convincing you and millions of others to vote leave. It seems odd that he’d no longer have any influence over anyone.
700k is a lot, but there has to be a cut off point, those were not registered in the UK in the previous 15 years, wether it is 5 years, 15 years or 50 years it did need some legislation. As for your second paragraph, not really sure what to add as I agreed they should have been allowed.
Firstly nobody has said he can’t do his job, i stated a fact I believe to be true that every prediction ref Brexit has been incorrect. If you don’t believe that feel free to post a prediction that has been correct. My whole point on this commentas I have previously said is he should be an independent expert and if even he can’t get it right what chance does the rest have.
Not disagreeing with anything you have put there, my point is even he can’t predict what is going to happen
No you didn’t, you posted... No qualification ref Brexit But if that’s what you meant, then the only answer is still... could you provide evidence please?
And again... JRM says it’ll take the economy 50 years to recover, and a Brexit MEP just 30 years, how are you attacking Carney but ignoring those you’re following who are saying similar things?
The only way to know how bad no deal is to experience it. I now know how bad a global banking crash is. I’ve no desire to find out just how bad having no deal unjustly thrust upon is going to be.
“Democracy deniers” - I don’t agree with this at all. The referendum was ran on the basis that we’d get trade deals signed up no problem. It wouldn’t affect trade. A No Deal is a disaster for trade and investment, and therefore people’s jobs and livelihoods. That isn’t what people voted for. If it was No Deal vs Remain, they wouldn’t have won. I think there should be a second referendum, but I don’t see it happening now Boris is in. He needs us to leave to stay in power, and that’s all he’s interested in.
lots of naivety on this thread (and the usual personal attacks on those supporting 'leave') If I run a business with someone else and I'm wanting out we can come to an agreement and I walk away. If we can't agree a deal and I walk away I'm still 'tied' to the business and all the financial etc responsibilities that entails. 'Leaving with a No Deal' isn't leaving at all - we would still have to honour our commitments to the EU.
Unless you have worked at the epi centre of the EU then you really have no clue how it works. Therefore to ask you weather we should leave/remain was never going to end well as it was all about contributions/immigration, fear drove the masses to vote leave on these issues alone. That was part of being in the EU, but as it appears to be heading towards no deal, its actual benefits will become very apparent.
A no-deal Brexit means the UK would leave the EU immediately on 31 October 2019, and there would be no agreements in place about what the relationship between the UK and the EU will be like in future. This includes special agreements about how UK and EU companies could work and do trade with each other. No agreement. No rules. Very naive.
We’re not leaving a ‘business partnership’ though. Whilst we have an act of parliament that has copied all our current laws across, a trading agreement requires both sides to agree. There’s no status quo which is why the EU have seriously upgraded infrastructure where possible at points they can control*. We haven’t done the same and appear to be panicking trying to work out what we need to do in a very short window (typical government trying to keep costs down) *that leaves the one border we can’t control easily, anyone have any ideas yet re NI border?
right to say there would be no agreements about future relationships. but the existing agreements with EU would have to be honoured - they are legally binding - we would still be tied to the EU. - it's a myth to say we can just walk away - we can't!
Don’t worry I actually agree, same with this 39 million quid. We owe it, we have to pay it. But please do everyone a favour tell that to every Tom dick and Harry who thinks we can just walk away and their lives will be so much better!
It was interesting to see the American senate state any threat to the GFA and there is no trade deal..... kind of ruins Johnson’s bluster.
Who am I following? I can’t comment on those points and haven’t as I have nothing to support either way. Please also show where I have ‘attacked’ him? Again I have said he should be the expert but even if he can’t get it right how can anyone else, that’s not attacking him as a person just a fact that no one can predict accurately what will happen.
