It's quite ironic that the teams we have taken points off are 1st and 2nd in the table at the moment.
If you look at Barnsley FC's history, this has largely been the case, beating teams who underestimate us. I could go back through the 80's & 90's, but the 3-0 win at Villa is a prime example from recent history. We should have beaten Charlton, if we had a decent ref. They are a good team though & won't be near the drop zone, if they hang on to 2 or 3 in January. I doubt they will though, Lyle Taylor will be gone in January to a bigger fish.
A win will do us the world of good. Losing to a team full of guys we didn't deem good enough for ourselves would be a terrible afternoon.
After tonight's games, we are down to 20th and Luton are 22nd, so to ensure we are not sucked into the bottom three, I agree, we need to ensure we beat them this Saturday. We didn't play well last night, but we've done OK in the games against Fulham and Charlton. It's therefore important that we win as many points as we can at Oakwell, because until this young team fully get to grips with the Championship, points on the road, could well prove to be few and far between.
Tee. hee! I was going to post the same but you beat me to it. It demonstrates the importance of punctuation. PS Officer D(r)ibble? You are showing your age. I wonder how many on here get the reference.
Luton not won a game yet and must see us as a great opportunity for a win... both team should be up for it, should be a cracking game.. Definitely a 6 pointer, even in August.
