Cos we've played 5 league games with essentially a brand new team in a fukcing unforgiving league. We'll get better, stress less.
I agree with much of what Django has posted in this thread. I will point out however that OGC Nice are top of Ligue 1.
And in those 5 league games 4 of the games was against sides who we are in the same bracket of. We got spanked into next week by Wednesday, Wednesday never got out of 2nd gear. Birmingham were God awful and they still managed to put 2 past us, we only had 1 shot on goal in the 2nd half which came from a miskick from mcgeehan. Then we get smashed by Luton at home, Luton. Let's forget about the 3 nil loss to Carlisle too. It's an unforgiving league, you're absolutely right. So on what planet do you think it's ok to sell your 2 centre backs for pennies to league rivals and replace them with players whove never kicked a ball in British football. Yes, theres every chance of finding a gem but theres also the chance you'll find an Mvoto. I dont care what anyone says, the owners and the board have ****** up. But who cares eh? They're pockets are healthier from it all. Ours not so. How many times did stendel say we need championship experience? What did he get?
Ah well, like I said ages ago, 10 games to get up to speed. Feel free to waste your energy stressing, I'm not.
Unfortunately with the 'plan' in its current format all we will ever be is a yo yo club between L1 and the championship. Paul Conway's comments about reinvesting every penny from transfer fees is absolute crap. These owners are just in it for a quick buck.
It’s not though is it? I didn’t see the Fulham game, but everything I’ve seen since tells me that we are woefully short of class and experience.
Utterly disagree. He has been badly let down by the owners. Wonder who his replacement might be. Won’t make any difference while money-making is the only objective.
That's clearly not true, Thomas, Wilkes and Collins for example all did really well in league 1, arguably Chaplin too. Diaby has looked pretty good, and I like the look of Radlinger
Sorry but experience does nothing to cut out any individual errors which can happen to anyone, even the most experienced player. Lindsay pile of tosh in this league, pinnock looked awful in his intro to this league yet we crave for them??? These players ok will take a few games at this level to work as a unit but it will come. Stendel said the same.
So when Diaby and Sibbick were completely out of position for Birmingham's goal, an experienced head wouldn't have delt with that, no? Sorry but you're talking rubbish. Lindsay and Pinnock were thrown in the deep end, just like Diaby and Andersen have been. It took them 12 months to form a partnership, and it worked. They would be 10000% times better this time around, hence the fees paid for them and the clubs they've joined. Brentford are no mugs, and Stoke is a big club. They'll take more than a few games, itll take months and by that time we could be in deep deep water. Also stendel is hardly going to come out and say "well, I got barely any of my targets I wanted, the owner didn't wanna spend pet so we bought the 6th option and weve no ******* chance" is he?
Wanted Kone, got Chaplin. Wanted the Croatian wonderkid, got Schmit. Not pulling either of those two lads down, but c'mon? Also, have you read the full post, the part where I said (4 times) that I took that from what has been posted on here. At the end of the day, the owners have shagged the manager and they've shagged the fans. Not on.
Another 100 million in the sky rocket coming shortly, according to this article from three days ago..... https://www.supersport.com/motorspo..._chairmans_Nice_takeover_receives_green_light
Interesting that. A quick scroll through the nice hashtag on Twitter makes for an interesting read. They're thrilled.
My favourite is this one...... They bought the club in June 2016........ https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-s...nt-of-french-football-club-nice-idUKKCN0YW26X So owning them for three years and two months is deemed long term or was just talk.
