Unfortunately I've somehow managed to end up with a cracked windscreen and I've got a couple of questions about how best to proceed

Any experts on here re. insurance or have gone through this themselves? Please PM me if so

you should contact your insurance. They will best advize you. If there is a huge excess then contact autoglass, it may work out cheaper.

I think so. Annoyingly seems like it happened when I was parked up near the Dove during yesterday's game. Either it was a chip that happened on the way up that cracked, or something happened whilst it was parked, either way it's not small put it that way

Talk to autoglass now. Or any other windscreen company in the area

£100 excess is cheaper than you paying for a new one and it won't effect your ncb

Yes that would be my first option, a tenner it cost me a couple of years back.

Make sure you don’t drive with the crack too!

Pretty sure one road bump and it could shatter and think it’s illegal to drive with one too.

Mine cracked last year. Quick call to the insurance company, small excess and auto glass were out in a couple of days.

As others have said doesn’t harm your NCD either.

I’d just do this one on insurance. £100’s not bad for a new windscreen and fitting and doesn’t affect anything in terms of your actual insurance.

If you’re going through the insurance just check their isn’t a specific windscreen excess. I had mine done a few years ago and it only cost me £25.

Had mine done in May via insurance at a cost of £80.

The YouTube repair jobs do.not work.

Got an appointment booked in via my insurer, have had to pay the £100 excess as it'll be a full replacement rather than just a repair by the looks of it
