Out of the players who actually wants it? Seriously? Yesterday we went a goal down after a minute, two down after 4 the mentality got worse natural, but not one player showed any passion to actually get us back into the game that first half. Bahre shouldn't be captain, he offers zilch, the defence sadly is the best we can put out and it will relegate us, going forward we have absolutely nothing, we're in for a season of good hidings & Stendel won't stick around to watch us get tonked week in week out. You Reds
Disagree that I don’t think the players cared. Only two yesterday made me question wether they really want to be up for the fight and that Halme and Thomas. I think maybe it’s down to pure ability. Reason why I say Halme, I watched to see who we had warming up when we were 2 down. Halme was the only one out there and if just walking up and down the line is warming up then he did a cracking job. Thomas on the other hand, that kid has got a heart of a garden pea it seems. So disappointed in the lad when we go a goal behind, left sibbick all alone defensively. Bottles every 50/50 and when I see a Barnsley player walking around when we’re losing it really boils my piss.
He's having a bad run, partly due to the position he's playing in, but I wouldn't question the commitment of Cameron. Mowatt too. In fact I wouldn't question the commitment of most of our players after yesterday. They were just a shambles in the first half and there are several factors that contributed to it.
Same here, I think Mowatt never gave up, covered every blade of grass. Bahre should give him his wages.........oh...and the captain's armband
while i live very far away (i should change my name to China Tyke) i don't see many games so can;t comment first hand but it's hard to expect a team of 21-24 years olds to step up and be leaders. Half of them have limited first team experience. All of them have no connection or affiliation for this club. So if we're expecting 11 Terry Butcher's we're gonna be in for a rude awakening. Don't misinterpret a poor performance for not wanting it. They're thrust into a position that is alien to a lot of them. And they'e looking around for guidance and a leader.
Luton had leaders everywhere. They don't require an armband to lead. It's one of those footballing myths that fans trot out after a run of games such as this. Bahre was awful yesterday regardless of his role. As was McGeehan who seems next in line.
Barnsley FC Radlinger 26 Sibbick 20 Andersen 21 Diaby 21 Pinillos 26 McGeehan 24 Mowatt 24 Wilks 20 Thomas 20 Bahre 24 Thiam 24 Luton Town Sluga 26 Bolton 19 Pearson 26 Bradley 27 Bree 21 Butterfield 29 Shinnie 30 Tunnicliffe 26 LuaLua 28 Collins 28 Cornick 24
so 25.8 vs 22.7. I would also guess Luton are one of the younger teams in the league. That 3 year difference could equate to 60-80 games of experience. That's massive. I don't know many 21 years in any walk of life that walk into a new job and become an instant leader. It takes time.
For me Wilks looks older than his years . Just knew he'd score when he was giving it to their keeper. I didnt think Thonas strolled around, when he lost the ball he chased after it. I think we ll come good but not if fans get on their backs.
Didnt sky sports say something about it being the yougest fielded side for so many years avg age 23 i think
