Agree with that , I was as frustrated as anybody but the stick the players got whilst still playing was s disgrace from some of the fans imo. By all means shouting encouragement or whatever and boo at half/full time but the velocity and acidic of some were shocking. I was proud as owt when some of the jeeres were stood up venting their spleen when the lads in the ponte drowned em out by singing , I thought that was great . As for players leaving if we start to rule the roost on players definitely wanting out as Bradshaw , Moore etc players will think twice before signing. The club knows what it’s doing imo and they’ll know who to say you can go and who to say no to. Last few games have been frustrating as hell and on here is the place to vent if not at these young players whist they are still playing imo . If things don’t improve theirs time enough for fans at match to show their feelings but not at this time imo .
The huge difference with spurs is that they kept these players for longer (except eriksson who wants out) but these lads have reached their peak and the club is reaping the rewards. We will sell once a few of them fulfil their potential then we’re back to square route one
My understanding is that Davies walked away and Lindsay refused to even enter contract talks. Is that not correct? Or do you think we are forcing these players out and they are leaving reluctantly?
When will people realise if the players want to leave they will and do, blaming the club all the time and not the players is crazy!
If you accept the line that ‘once a player wants to leave, then let them go or better still get rid’ why bother with any contract at all. The fact is, if a player is contracted to us - he plays for us unless and until we say different. That judgement should be based on the interest of the Club first and foremost. When we do sell a player, it might be useful if we also adopted a policy of not having our pants pulled down over the size of the fee.
So as an example. Zaha wanted to leave Palace they didn’t didn’t want to sell him as it wouldn’t leave them with enough time to replace him. They didn’t sell him. He still plays for them and will have to perform well to get a good move still.
With Zaha already being proven at that level it seems like an easy decision, everyone who left us was crap last time in the Championship.....
I'd walk away too if I was offered pennies mate. I think they're being forced out, but done so by offering a ***** contract so the club know they'll reject and they'll be able to cash in. I'll make it clear, that's a theory I have and not what I've been told..
I do wonder how some of you get so much inside information of the goings on in the boardroom at the club.
Doesn’t matter what they are doing individually at other clubs. They played as a team with us. Knew how each other played and was organised. Completely opposite to our new players. They may be ok individually but have no understanding and it’ll be too late by time they do.
I think the waiting until you have an adequate replacement or you don’t move them on is that main point. Moore did well for us last time and had a good season under his belt for us last time out. If Woodrow is going to be out now it looks even more ridiculous - obviously he doesn’t think Schmidt is up-to it yet. Sat would have been the perfect time to bring him on. Yet he subbed a CB & LB. who knows he might have done had Diaby not gone off but hardly a ringing endorsement for him so far.
I do find transfer windows exciting watching all these in the knows clambering over each other to be most in the knower.
