With all due respect back Jay, some of your recent interactions on here could disqualify you from giving an opinion on rudeness. But each to their own as that's a different discussion.

If my post was taken rudely then I'd be the first to apologise, but not sure where I've given an answer as an official club one when I've just suggested or brought up things that have been repeated so many times in the past? Maybe because I attend the meetings, watch the videos, etc? Also, I'm trying to avoid anyone claiming questions weren't asked post the event tomorrow, when there's no way Gally or whichever one of us asks the questions will get through them all.

Easily fixed though and won't bother next time. Taking your advice on board.

Given that, unlike the prior owners, John Dennis and Patrick Cryne, these guys have no affinity with the club or the town, this is a financial play. As a fan it would be nice to know their intentions.[/QUOTE]

Way as I see it mate. (An opinion based on some of the things said at prior meetings) They see it as purely a business run on a sound footing. Investing the incomings to get the best return they can get. Eventually with the hope of reaching the premier league and all that brings. Maybe if that ever happens they will grow to love the club, it’s fans etc. As has happened at several clubs. Eg Leicester. Mr Lee certainly doesn’t need the money. But I believe does not want to end up like Chansiri either.
Ps Nice was an investment but unlike Barnsley their expectations were a lot higher. ( fans that is ) than ours. Slagging em off. Lee Conway etc (Nice) doesn’t endear anyone.

Think that’s a bit unnecessary and rude. Gally asked for questions RR supplied a list. You randomly started dismissing and answering them for no apparent reason.

Fair enough. Can see the rudeness in this one so I’ll apologise.

But as mentioned before, I didn’t answer them for no reason and even started the reply by saying ‘I doubt all your questions will get asked but some of them we kind of know the answer to already’.

I do help put these evenings together so it was an attempt to manage expectations. Obviously not a very good one, but I also only answered the ones we have an idea about so it wasn’t like I was dismissing them all.

No worries I see you as one of the good guys. It’s hot and easy to get irritable.

Appreciate that. FYI my response was based on thinking I’d been helpful, to getting a sarcastic/obnoxious response (in my eyes at the time).

I blame having to work the Bank Holiday and stare out at the sun

In my experience of these meetings I don't think in depth questions regarding finance, strategy and so on will be dealt with in any real depth. It's more like a public relations exercise and a chance to meet the fans. Some of the questions are pretty mundane and they won't want to get bogged down in detail...

I think most on here would welcome a straight answer to a straight question: have there been 'tensions' among the players recently and is this deflecting from squad selection and planning strategy for particular opponents, e.g. Luton?

    Not holding my breath though!

Some good points. Lets assume their plan is to sell up in 3-5 years time. For them to achieve this successfully and as you say they have to improve efficiency and make the club attractive. Enough of course to secure a return on their investment. That means we will improve if things go to plan.

Many people who have a affinity with the club chose not to buy it. For whatever reason. So the loyalty, support of the local community, etc may not be there at day one but can grow and develop with these owners.

But are the two mutually exclusive? I would suspect that the former objective means getting too emotionally attached could also be a problem too.

As football progresses the clubs higher up the chain have less and less ‘local fans’ owning the clubs.

I guess as another question. What do we want the owners to be?

The new sponsorship deals have been with local companies. Whilst this is admirable, did the board not look at getting sponsorship and investment from overseas particularly with their overseas connections? Is this something they will look at in the future?

Question for the new CEO is Barnsley FC a football club dedicated to success on the field or a Football player retailer dedicated to making profits on player sales and ignoring the effects these player sales and the subsequent recruitment have on the ability of the squad to achieve success. I ask that question because it appears to many fans its the latter and the apparent inflexibility in the way the strategy is being implemented worries us.

Enjoyed the previous one where Stendel did his presentation.
