I don't think the courts will interfere but the MP's might. But as I said, if he's blocked he goes to the country and says this lot are preventing me giving you what you want!

One thing for sure, it's going to be interesting over the next couple of months!

    The weight of this sad time we must obey;
Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say.
The oldest hath borne most: we that are young
Shall never see so much, nor live so long.

Yes we have a bunch of MP’s across parties who have total disregard for the votes of 17 million people.

Democracy is totally dead. The UK is bitterly divided, we are in an utter mess because Cameron opened Pandora's box of Brexit.
The establishment told so many lies about Europe to a public worn down by austerity and desperately wanting any change.
No easy way back from this mess.

Have a second referendum. Then it's clear.

I’m 52, blue eyes, shaved head, athletic build when not busy quarrying. I enjoy motorcycling, football and spending time with my family and if you pick me tonight I’m sure we’ll have a ‘rocking’ time.

Yes we have a bunch of MP's across parties who have total disregard for the votes of 16 million people, plus those that didn't vote, those that couldn't vote, those that are too young to vote and those that were too young to vote but now can. Unfortunately, most of those are in the government.

The population of the UK is significantly larger than the 27% or so that voted to Leave the EU.

Scoff, please stop trying ti comment in an industry you clearly know nowt about. Whilst I agree that some automation is possible in our game you've clearly no idea of the capital investment required and limitations resulting from the environment we work in. Put the keyboard down now. Ta :)

I know this is obvious so forgive me for pointing it out to you.....
but 17 million people did not vote for a no deal brexit.
In fact they were categorically told by your mates that the EU would be falling over themselves to give us a great deal.

Quite clear now that a vote of no confidence in the government = a November election and a no deal Brexit. Checkmate Boris!

    She can’t.

Well technically she can, but her involvement is no more than ceremonial.

Just a quick side note which is only slightly related as it involves Europe and my experience chatting with/ in the company of Europeans this weekend.

For the first time anywhere, I saw at first hand pretty hostile anti British sentiment because of Brexit. The guy was in a bar in Leuven (Belgium) out of the centre and in a locals place. The barman was very nice and apologetic. But the guy and his mate (i'd say late 50's early 60s) went on (in native tongue) for a good half hour. Obviously I couldn't make out the detail, but Brexit, England and Europe were repeated in a heated fashion and various arm gesticulations. We considered leaving after one drink, but bloody mindedness and openly asking the barman if we were welcome meant we stayed for 2 more.

I chatted with the barman a little and said we both voted remain and were very sad about it. He said many of his regulars were British expats and Erasmus students and he was worried about the future. He did say there was a small minority who felt betrayed by Britain and their natural reaction to rejection was what we were seeing from this guy.

I suspect it will increase a little more as time goes by and depending on what happens. I just find it very sad that there is now something of a rift in place that wasn't before. And even the most pro European from the isle of Brit will be tarred in that way.

    Just sad.

The issue of remain mps blocking brexit is real but they have a legitimate right to do that.

The way the British system works is that you vote for your mp not a party. Its nonsense but that's the system.

Therefore given the last election was after the referendum, that is the most recent poll of opinion. The result was more pro remain mps. The leavers might not like this but its the result of the system we us . There is also the small issue of noone ever having a vote on no deal as that was advertised as would never happen in the referendum.

There are only 3 ways out of this. 1 a new referendum to include no deal. 2 a general election (although the result may be the same as the last one) 3 change the whole way we elect mps e.g PR

"Boris Johnson tut mir wirklich leid. Er hat nichts mit mir zu tun" Might find that phrase useful on our next trip to Germany ;)

There’s a distinction, lost on many, between leaving the EU and leaving Europe. I agree its a sad state of affairs but it doesn't surprise me. I’ll be in Holland next month, friendliest people I’ve met, be interesting to see if anythings changed since last time I was there.

That comes early next year. Work is currently under way to identify the best way of towing us eastwards and anchoring us just off New York!:)
