I don't get this second referendum thing. Its either a third referendum on EU membership or a first referendum on no deal terms. It certainly NOT a second referendum.

There was one reason I myself voted for leave and why I think 17 million others did.

Mass immigration to this country cannot continue the way it has been. The only way this will stop is leaving the EU myself an others are fixated on this. If we remain in the EU this will continue. It simply can’t continue like it has been its unsustainable.

I think many other people voted leave for this reason so can’t see why anyone now would have changed their minds.

Even if that involves a crippling, devastating hit on our economy & people's lives? Just checking before we go ahead.

John Bercow finding out when he was on holiday is like when I was on holiday as a kid and I found out Danny Wilson had joined Sheffield Wednesday

I think we're at the point where there's going to be trouble either way. We may as well have an informed decision.

No evidence for that and I will end my contribution to this debate by saying this. The biggest threat to what you say is not Brexit. I believe we will make a success of Brexit and we will prosper. The scare mongering claims post referendum result have not materialised. Investment is at the highest level as is our Global trade with trade deals lined up with emerging countries as well as the US. If the EU is so great then it's odd that Germany's economy is struggling. I accept there will be a short term impact should we leave without a deal but the opportunities far outweigh that.

No, I answered the question.....I didn't listen and if you re-read my earlier post, I said I voted Remain, so it was a bit of a daft question.

We can’t waste any more time arranging referendums for this matter we need to leave in October and close the book on it.

And now we find this was all lies and our economy can’t do without this immigration ,
Farmers and rural businesses that rely on this immigration are up in arms .
Besides all the lies Cameron made the vote advisory , on that basis the government should have prepared for Brexit then put it back to the people on an instruction vote.
There is no politicians blocking anything legal as some are saying and blocking democracy . They are using democratic procedures to stop a no deal Brexit , the only people using undemocratic means are a Communist advised Government,
The whole thing about cheering a govt to be undemocratic is ironic at best .

I'm not a huge fan of Bruges. I find places that become too popular to tourists often have some resentment to the people who frequent them. Utrecht and Den Haag were nice, Utrecht especially. And had Maastricht and Groningen recommended by some dutch people when we did a brewery tour in Mechelen.

Mechelen, Leuven and Ghent are really lovely (just come back from the latter two) though I think tourists have cottoned onto the charms of Ghent and it felt busier than3-4 years ago when we last visited there.

And that there in black and white is why the average man/woman on the street should not have been asked to make a history changing decision on an issue which was relatively unknown at the time, where packs of lies on both sides were told, laws were broken, and the outcome would be decided only by a simple majority. David Cameron, as a result of your decision back then, families and friends have been torn apart, marriages and relationships have broken up, pressing domestic issues have been ignored, the pound has crashed, businesses are in limbo, race related crime has increased, and the entire country is bogged down in an unending mass debate with no consensus in sight. I find it so sad to look on and see what has happened to our great country, we're a complete laughing stock with an unelected mandate-less buffoon in charge, no credible opposition, and shady racially-overtoned parties and groups skulking in the wings waiting for their chance. Those of you who know me on here know that I normally don't get involved in politics, but today of all days I couldn't resist. David Cameron, this is your legacy.

The political pundits are saying that today's action is likely to make certain two likely
outcomes viz: a vote of no confidence in the Government and a General Election.
Be interesting to see the result if a GE does take place and the Tories are ousted.

Unlike the catastrophic damage already caused with more to come?

That makes sense - why have a referendum that about 50% will be unhappy with the outcome of?

We already did - having another can’t make things worse, it can only piss off a similar number of people with the upside that there’s a chance of saving the economy.

    How dare I?

Il tell you how I dare. Exactly because of responses like this. All the **** hasn’t been caused by people who voted remain, it’s been caused by people who voted leave. And those who convinced people exactly like you to help them along.

Still I’m sure boris Johnson, Dominic Cummins and Jacob Rees Mogg has your best interests at heart me old. Good luck..... as they say... you’ll need it.

Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?

I don’t what I want least, a Tory brexit or Nigel Farage involved in our own parliament. At least if he ever got elected here people might see him for the charlatan he is.
