I’d forgot about that penalty to be honest but I do think he was a lot better defensively post January, I liked what I saw from Williams as well.

I think we have a great footballer in Jordan Williams. That said I think Cavare is being badly done to.

I'd push Jordan Williams into midfield with Mowatt and Styles and bring in the new lad Oduor at left back and Cavare at right back with Sibbick and Halme in the middle with Diaby being injured.

Up front I'd bring Schmidt in for Thiam and play Wilkes as a striker with Bahre in behind him.

    Collins

    Cavare Sibbick Halme Oduor

    Mowatt

    Williams Styles

    Bahre

    Wilkes Schmidt

    I’d forgotten about Oduor.
He played in midfield for the under 23s and looked the part last week so perhaps he could be an option.
I still believe a lot of our issues at this early stage are down to the centre of the midfield.
Maybe play someone behind McGeehan and Mowatt and drop Bahre.
Oduor could be that man until Dougall is deemed fit and ready.

Not his fault in a million years. He is trying his best. He should be understudying and learning from a more experienced player not chucked in at the deep end where any mistakes are amplified.

But as the poster said, the Head Coach thinks he's been good and sees him as a first pick in his team.
    Is the Head Coach wrong?

I know you’re only repeating what Stendel told you but I really find it baffling he can believe that. It was painful to watch Lua Lua run rings around him at times.

I’ve nothing against Sibbick but we’ve clearly got at least one if not two better options in that position currently & all I’m getting at the minute is a sense of stubbornness like when Keith Hill picked Wiseman over Stones at RB.

Also, if he isn’t a natural right back why play him there when you’ve got two fit & available to play? The whole issues baffling.

It might solve the problem if he has to play centre back due to Diaby’s injury.

If results continue to be poor then the players will take stick. It wont matter that they are young and potentially being played out position. It's very harsh and its not the players fault we have entered the season in a bit off a mess or that some of them aren't currently good enough for this league.

Just out of interest, before Diaby's injury we had a fully fit back 4 didn't we? If so, then why is someone been played out of position so early in the season when we've a full squad to pick from?

Williams is injured and Cavare is not trusted.
That’s what was said in the meeting.

It’s amazing how good players become when they’re not getting picked. Cavare is now up there with Maldini. I remember last season Grant McCann came out in his interview and stated they targeted him “because he’s good at running forward but no good at running back”.

Cavare was very good vs Fulham, all be it at left back. Sibbick isn't a full back, but looks like he could make a decent centre half! So Cavare should be given a run at right backor left back if Jordan Williams gets fit, Ben Williams to play as well. Pinilos wasn't good enough half the time in L1, way to slow!!

Woodrow got injured vs Charlton, he was struggling for the last half an hour and should have gone off but Chaplin went off instead!!

Thing with that is he’s being asked to do two jobs and the curtesy with that should be a designated player covers when he goes forward ,
Someone appointed to slot in to cover Left/right back when the appointed player from that position goes forward ,
Wilder used that tactic to great affect and was the spearhead of his success .

I'm at odds with many posters on here, and at the games, as I think Sibbick has been one of the better new recruits. I don't understand the criticism either.

As far as Cavare is concerned, I thought he was a liability first half of last season, but he completely changed it around second half and put in some very accomplished performances where he bossed the right and side of the pitch with his power and strength, while no longer giving away stupid fouls.

As much as I think Sibbick has been harshly criticised, Cavare is the better full back. But I wouldn't drop Sibbick I'd play him centre half.

I think the players are very much like supporters and after a few defeats their heads go down a bit. They will publicly say they don't read transfer speculation etc. However, when we only have two central midfielders and don't recruit any back-up the players might think it's a cluster f ook.
