Your choice of language betrays you, unfortunately. Win, lose, sore losers..... Short of ‘remoaners’, you’ve almost won Brexit Bingo.
No remain voters I’m aware of have ever said the EU is a flawless project. It isn’t, but anyone bar the myopic, the blinkered, can see that despite those imperfections, we are better off within it than without. The 60+ years of peace in Europe under its auspices alone ought to be enough to persuade the doubters, but apparently not, which simply beggars belief.
Still, you have your opinions and I thoroughly hope you get to reap what you’ve sown.

No they didn't. Check your facts b4 posting. That was the total turnout. Around 30% of the voting electorate of the town. and less than 50% of those voted for the brexit party. So in reality around 13% of the eligible voters. 1 in 7.5 people. Hope that helps.

If I Remember right Micky. Being an 18 yr old at the time it was the first election I took part in. I voted mainly on the reason of a united Europe is better than a divided one. ( Given the cold war and the threat of nuclear war. ) Someone asked on here would I vote to join the union now. Absolutely for the future of my own children . Also if I had the knowledge what workers rights were. Europe would win hands down. To think that any working class person would advocate keeping a Tory party and support Nigel Farage's track record on workers rights beggars belief.

Nobody (or very, very few) who voted to leave can give a reasonable, logical explanation on why leaving the EU is a positive thing.

 

It is even worse when you consider the irony on being lectured to by some on here who are a) members of (or at least aligned with the politics and aspirations of Momentum and b) believe Corbyn and the Labour party should be in Government. Quite a few cant even differentiate between National debt and deficit blaming the current Govt for increasing debt failing to realise they inherited a huge deficit which due to austerity measures. Whether or not that was the correct approach it has worked in that the deficit has been massively reduced. Like any debt, only when deficit becomes surplus can you start reducing it and pay less interest allowing more money to go towards infrastructure and things like the NHS, housing and education.

When you look closely at those espousing remain on this BB and the wider social media e.g. BBC HYS (and there have been hundreds since the Referendum) re Brexit, the underlying reasons for a surprisingly large proportion being anti-Brexit is NOT so much Brexit itself but the ongoing 'class war'. and anti-establishment views Many use words like, "Toffs" "Parasites" and argue that the sole reason is that "they"!!! are doing it to line their pockets , erode, workers rights (in spite of the fact that UK a) introduced many of the EU employment laws before the EU and b) many exceed the minimum required by EU law, sell out to the US and destroy the NHS. Anyone who points out that there is no evidence to prove many of their fears is told they are "Toryboys", naïve, thick, uneducated, old, selfish etc.etc.etc. Not one of them references the impending German recession, the collapsing Italian banking system, the massive QE programme that massaged the EU 'growth' figures and the Greek debt that still exists and keeps getting kicked down the road. Change is not without risk, often painful but without it we would stagnate.

 

All anyone needs to know is that Putin thinks us leaving is a good idea - for Russia. Anyone tacitly supporting Russian foreign policy is what Stalin used to call his Western supporters “useful idiots”.

Except that I know from personal experience that all my friends and acquaintances who voted to leave were either doing so because they were offended by immigration or as a general protest about the fact that their Government (not the E.U.) has allowed the town to rot. Austerity obviously played a major role in reinforcing the misery.

 

I simply want to know what this utopia is going to look like upon leaving the EU. 3 years and counting and I still haven't heard one single aspect of what the UK is going to look like and how it will be better off. Even from those who have heralded the new age most. Do you find that a bit strange? I mean, if its such a great thing to leave the EU, there should be reasons galore being discussed. And I'm sure they would be considered and thought upon and there may well be many people go, you know what, that does sound a better future. But there isn't any detail, and there won't be any detail. Because giving detail will undermine the populist argument that essentially is "you can't tell me what to do Mr EU"

But we're long past the point where those pushing for leave should have advocated what the route is, what it will entail, why, and what the outcomes and benefits (if any) are expected to be.

The worldwide economy is grinding to slowdown, and we're partly to blame for that. There are issues elsewhere of course, but Brexit is very much a reason businesses are battening down hatches, putting forward restructuring, relocation and redundancy plans for varying scenarios and delaying or suspending investment.

I'm very pro change. But change that is considered. Not a blind leap in the dark that hasn't been explained, indeed worse, has been evaded and even lied about to deny any true form of scrutiny and clarity.

Put the leave plan forward, show the benefits, have an honest debate and let it be judged in the cold light of day. I don't know why anyone would be averse to such a way of considering the future of our country and the futures of its people.
